Saba Qamar has become the centre of an online debate after viewers claimed she may have undergone Botox and filler treatments.

The discussion began after an emotional scene from her ongoing drama Pamaal, went viral on social media this week.

In the sequence, Saba Qamar, who plays Malika, breaks down over her husband’s emotional abuse, delivering an intense crying performance.

However, several viewers commented that her facial expressions looked unusually stiff.

Many suggested that cosmetic procedures may have limited her facial movement.

Some users claimed that the 41-year-old actress appeared older than before, while others said Botox had affected her natural acting style.

Clips of what online users called Saba’s “Botox crying face” began circulating widely across social media platforms.

A Dubai-based aesthetic dermatologist also joined the conversation.

She analysed the viral clip and offered a professional opinion on the actress’s appearance.

The dermatologist said: “This is what it looks like to cry with Botox.

“Notice minimal lines and wrinkles around eyes, in between brows and on forehead despite giving so many expressions.

“This is a very well-done Botox which does not create a fake look and allows perfect movement of facial muscles to give full expressions.”

Her comments were quickly shared online, with some users disagreeing that Saba’s treatment looked natural and not overdone.

Others argued that the presence of Botox should not overshadow her acting skills.

The controversy around the crying scene prompted the show’s director, Khizer Idrees, to step in and clarify the situation.

He explained that the apparent distortion in Saba’s facial expressions resulted from poor lighting and camera angles during the shoot.

Khizer said that despite those technical issues, the team decided to keep the raw footage because of its emotional power.

He added that Saba’s performance captured the intensity of the character, even if the visuals were not entirely flattering.

While the director’s clarification addressed the misunderstanding, discussions about Saba Qamar’s appearance have continued online.

Many fans defended her against the criticism, calling the debate unnecessary and disrespectful toward one of Pakistan’s most versatile performers.

They argued that focusing on her looks rather than her craft reflected society’s obsession with women’s appearances over their achievements.

Despite the controversy, Pamaal remains a ratings success and continues to spark conversations around emotional abuse and women’s resilience.
