"There are a lot of rumours about me"
Emerging Pakistani actress and model Zainab Raza has been thrust into the spotlight recently due to her apparent relationship with former President Pervez Musharraf.
Zainab rose to fame with her stunning appearance on ARY Digital’s reality show Tamasha 2.
However, Zainab’s rising profile has been partially associated with speculation regarding her background.
Online, her supposed connection to Pervez Musharraf comes to the forefront.
It has sparked rumours that Zainab is his granddaughter.
Some have also speculated that she is an American returnee.
Zainab addressed these rumours in an appearance on the popular TV show Good Morning Pakistan.
She clarified: “There are a lot of rumours about me which are wrong. I am not a US return, Musharraf is not at all my grandfather.”
Zainab also addressed her rumoured love life.
“They also associate me with my best friend Ahmed. Fans have made him my boyfriend but in fact he is like my brother.
“I am not 23 years old, I am 26.
“Ahmed is not my boyfriend. Most of the information about me is not true.”
Despite her denial, many social media users have struggled to accept it.
However, further details appeared to reveal how the false rumour spread.
Pervez Musharraf’s only daughter Ayla Musharraf is married to Asim Raza, a renowned director. The couple have two daughters – Maryam Raza and Zainab Raza.
Maryam is a well-known model.
The confusion stemmed from the fact that Pervez Musharraf’s granddaughter and model Zainab Raza have the same name but are completely different people.
The situation became clearer when an old photo of Zainab with her mother on Mother’s Day surfaced.
It led some confused fans to question whether her mother was Ayla Musharraf. However, other social media users quickly clarified that the woman in the photo was not her.
Some also speculated about Zainab’s supposed relationship with her Tamasha co-star, Omer Shahzad.
The two became the subject of gossip after appearing together on the show but Omer Shahzad denied any romantic involvement.
Fans, however, continue to make guesses about their connection.
On the work front, Zainab Raza has worked on projects like the drama serial Takbur and the film Prey Hut Love.
She is now starring in another ARY Digital drama titled Bharam.
