Teenagers Charged With Murder after Smethwick Stabbing

Three more teenagers have been charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of Zeshan Afzal outside a mosque in Smethwick.

Three teenagers have been charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of 18-year-old Zeshan Afzal outside a mosque in Smethwick, West Midlands.

Afzal was found with serious injuries after a disorder broke out on Oldbury Road on February 20.

Emergency services attended the scene following reports of a disturbance, where Afzal was discovered injured.

Despite receiving medical attention, Afzal died shortly afterwards.

Two 18-year-olds, Aaman Khalil and Rehaan Siddique, and a 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named due to his age, have now been charged with murder.

The three teenagers were due to appear before Birmingham Magistrates’ Court following the charges.

The latest developments mean that 13 teenagers have now been charged in connection with Afzal’s death.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident continues, with West Midlands Police carrying out further enquiries.

Officers have urged anyone who may have information about what happened on Oldbury Road but has not yet spoken to police to come forward.
