"Sydney was shocked by the offer at first."
Hollywood star Sydney Sweeney could be heading to Bollywood after being offered a staggering £45 million deal for a big-budget Indian production.
The 28-year-old actress, who dazzled in a scarlet gown at the Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, is reportedly considering one of the most lucrative offers of her career.
The mega-deal includes a £35 million fee alongside a further £10 million in sponsorship agreements, making it one of the most expensive Indian films ever planned.
According to reports, Sweeney would play a young American star who falls in love with a celebrated Indian celebrity, with filming expected to span multiple global locations.
Production is pencilled in for early next year, with New York, Paris, London and Dubai among the international destinations chosen for the ambitious project.
A source close to the deal revealed: “Sydney was shocked by the offer at first. £45 million is an incredible sum.
“But the project is intriguing, and it could elevate her global profile even further.”
The source continued: “The Indian film industry is powerful and growing, and this movie is designed to bring its productions to the international market.
“Nothing has been decided yet, but it’s a huge opportunity and Sydney is weighing her options carefully.”
While the star is already committed to several upcoming projects, insiders believe this opportunity could push her into new territory and strengthen her international presence.
If she accepts, Sweeney would follow in the footsteps of stars like Priyanka Chopra and Shilpa Shetty, who both successfully transitioned into global entertainment markets.
The actress first gained prominence through her roles in HBO’s teen drama Euphoria and the satirical hit The White Lotus, which earned her widespread acclaim.
She has since moved into film, with her upcoming release Christy showcasing her as American boxer Christy Martin, the first female fighter to grace the cover of Sports Illustrated.
Sweeney underwent intense physical training for the role, explaining:
“Every single fight you see, we’re actually punching each other. We’re going full force.”
“I always believed that you wouldn’t be able to make it feel real if it’s a stunt double or if it’s faking the hits.”
The film, which charts Martin’s rise as a world champion before her husband attempted to murder her, is set to be released on November 7.
For now, the Hollywood actress is said to be carefully considering the Bollywood deal, which could become a landmark moment in her already stellar career.
