"I am very happy and hopeful about Damal."
Bidya Sinha Saha Mim looks to continue her hot streak of delivering hit films with the release of Damal.
The film released on October 28, 2022, and its opening day in Dhaka was positive, with some packed-out shows in cinemas.
Directed by Raihan Rafi, the film is based on the story of the Swadhin Bangla Football Team.
Damal is written by Faridur Reza Sagar and also stars Siam Ahmed, Shariful Razz, Intekhab Dinar and Shahnaz Sumi.
Bidya is coming off the release of Poran and now, she is excited to give her fans another hit film.
She said: “My newest film Damal portrays the story of a football team during the Liberation War of Bangladesh, and I appeared as a simple yet flamboyant village girl named Hasna.
“The experience was challenging like my every other film, and the audience will be the one to demonstrate whether my efforts were praiseworthy or not.
“My character in the screenplay was a very challenging one and I wanted to go through that.
“This film has a lot of major characters and each of them had an important role to play.
“The script is also very well written. The entire cast had been working very hard and we are very happy with the output. I am very happy and hopeful about Damal.
“We all want Damal to be as successful as Poran, hopefully even more. Let’s see how everything pans out.”
Speaking about Poran‘s success, Bidya said she believes the film has brought her closer to the audience.
She explained: “The unbelievable amount of praise I received for Poran from our beloved audience, has inspired me and increased my courage.
“The experience of houseful shows and ‘sold-out’ responses were totally new experiences.”
“People even called me for the tickets of both Poran and now Damal, and these are really noteworthy for me as an actress, and I would request the audience to buy tickets in advance as tickets may run out this time as well.”
Bidya claimed that Damal will prove how filmmakers are now trying to bring a new variety to Bangladesh’s film industry.
As of late, Bidya Sinha Saha Mim has established herself as one of the top actresses in the Bangladeshi film industry.
Although Bidya has several commercially successful films to her name, she earned special honour and love from the audience for her brilliant performance in Poran, which was released on July 10, 2022.
