Bangladeshi actress Bidya Sinha Mim has signed on for a new, currently untitled web film with Chorki, marking her debut on the platform.
The contract signing took place on December 13, 2025, at the Chorki office, with CEO Redoan Rony present to welcome Mim to the platform.
Rony expressed optimism about the collaboration, highlighting Chorki’s commitment to producing quality content and showcasing talented actors like Mim.
She explained that she chose this project because the story resonated with her, unlike several earlier proposals she had received.
“Many people want to know why I’m working less? Because the story itself was not suitable.
“Many story or work proposals came, but the story or the ancillary issues were not good.
“When Kazi Asad narrated this story, and I saw his previous work in Chorki, I felt that the work needed to be done.”
The actress revealed that she will be presented in a completely new way.
It will reveal to audiences a side of her not previously seen in her roles.
Director Kazi Asad said: “Bidya Sinha Mim is a proven, talented and glamorous actress in our industry.
“We usually see her in a glamorous look. But the fun lies in how she can be broken down and presented to the audience in a new type of character.
“We have taken up that challenge. I hope the audience will agree with me.”
Asad declined to share plot details but confirmed the film falls within the emotional drama genre, with themes aimed at engaging audiences deeply.
The story was co-written by Mahmudul Hasan Tipu and Kazi Asad, with screenplay adaptation by Asaduzzaman Abir in collaboration with the director.
Shooting is scheduled to begin at the end of December 2025, while Chorki has said the names of Mim’s co-stars will be revealed later.
Prior to this, Mim completed shooting a film with Saif Chandan, whose title has also not been finalised, before joining the web film.
This project reflects Mim’s careful selection of work, prioritising strong narratives and character depth over frequent appearances in less substantial productions.
Fans have expressed excitement, eager to see her in a role that promises to diverge from her usual glamorous performances.
Through this untitled project, Mim intends to reestablish herself in the entertainment industry, exploring roles that challenge her acting range and versatility.
