"This sequence will be filmed over several weeks."
Sunny Deol’s Lahore 1947 is one of the most anticipated Bollywood films.
Touted as a story about India and Pakistan, the film has several fans waiting impatiently for it.
It has been rumoured that Lahore 1947 will feature a train scene.
The scene is reportedly on a huge scale and will serve as the film’s climax.
A source suggested that the scene will allude to the partition of India.
The source said: “The shooting of Lahore 1947 will conclude with the most ambitious train sequence of the Partition era, featuring an extensive scene unlike anything seen before.
“This sequence will be filmed over several weeks with a large cast and crew, aiming to offer a fresh experience to the audience.”
The scene will reportedly depict Sunny’s character undertaking a challenging journey from India to Pakistan.
Lahore 1947 is being directed by Rajkumar Santoshi who has worked with Sunny on several blockbusters including Ghayal (1990) and Damini (1993).
In October 2023, it was confirmed that Aamir Khan would produce the film, marking his first professional collaboration with Sunny Deol.
Posting an official statement via the Aamir Khan Productions X account, Aamir said:
“I and the entire team at AKP are most excited and happy to announce our next, starring Sunny Deol, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, titled Lahore 1947.
“We look forward to collaborating with the immensely talented Sunny, and one of my favourite directors Raj Santoshi.
“The journey we have embarked on promises to be most enriching.
“We seek your blessings.”
The film also stars Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, and Karan Deol, with Aamir apparently having a cameo appearance.
The music for the film was composed by AR Rahman, with lyrics by Javed Akhtar.
In June 2024, Preity announced that she had wrapped up filming for the movie.
It marks her comeback after Bhaiyaji Superhit (2018).
The actress said: “It’s a wrap on Lahore, 1947 and I couldn’t be more grateful to the entire cast and crew for such an incredible experience.
“I sincerely hope all of you appreciate and enjoy this film as much as we did making it.”
“It’s definitely the toughest film I have worked on.
“Full marks to everyone for all their hard work and patience during the last couple of months.
“Thank you, Raj Ji, Aamir, Sunny, Shabana Ji, Santosh Sivan, and AR Rahman from the bottom of my heart.”
Lahore 1947 is scheduled to be released in January 2025, coinciding with Republic Day.
