These qualities make Triptii Dimri an apt choice.
Triptii Dimri has established herself as one of Bollywood’s freshest, most talented actresses.
She has a universal charm onscreen which the audience continues to love and admire.
It has been reported that Triptii will play the iconic star Parveen Babi in a biopic.
Parveen was one of the industry’s most popular actresses in the 1970s and 1980s.
She was admired greatly for her onscreen persona which encompassed charm and sex appeal.
These qualities make Triptii Dimri an apt choice for the role.
Parveen appeared in hits including Deewaar (1975), Kaalia (1981) and Khud-Daar (1982).
Her onscreen pairing with Amitabh Bachchan proved to be a hit among viewers.
Reflecting on his chemistry with her, Amitabh stated: “Most of my films with Parveen were superbly successful.
“The audience liked us as a pair. She brought in a new, bohemian kind of leading lady to the screen.
“She was a very fun-loving, light-hearted person. Always full of joie de vivre.
“She never interfered with anyone’s work. I sincerely feel she was a very genuine, honest and down-to-earth person, very loving and caring.
“That’s how I’d like to remember her.”
Parveen Babi suffered from mental health issues. She also had a highly publicised affair with the filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt.
Divulging their relationship, Mahesh said: “In our two-and-a-half-year relationship, I witnessed her crumble into dust during the first encounter with a mental ailment and the subsequent collapse phase.
“Parveen became the springboard for Arth – the film that re-birthed me.
“Our passionate romance and the ensuing tragedy shattered me, providing insights only pain can offer.”
Parveen passed away on January 20, 2005.
In June 2024, Triptii Dimri addressed the positive reaction to her work.
She explained: “In my experience, luckily, I would like to thank God.
“Because in my experience, it has been the other way around, as many films I have done in my career, whether they are the older films that I did earlier or the ones that have released recently, I have received a lot of love from my audience.
“People have liked my work and have spoken about it.”
“Initially, when I came into the industry, I always wanted people to talk about my work and nothing else.
“Luckily, when my films have released, they have spoken about my work.
“I think these things motivate us actors to do better in life and to keep working on our craft and I think that way I have been very fortunate.”
On the work front, Triptii Dimri was last seen in Bad Newz. The film has currently earned over Rs. 112 crores (£10 million) at the box office.
