"Aryan has created something truly one-of-a-kind"
Shah Rukh Khan has announced a new collaboration between Red Chillies and Netflix, which will mark his son Aryan Khan’s debut.
The untitled project will be written as well as directed by Aryan.
Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, it is the sixth collaboration between Netflix and the production house.
It follows the success of collaborations such as Darlings, Bhakshak, Class of ’83, Betaal, and Bard of Blood.
Shah Rukh Khan expressed his excitement about the project, saying:
“We are excited to present this new series with Netflix that offers a refreshing look into the glamorous cinematic world and what it takes to succeed as an outsider.
“It’s a unique narrative brought to life by Aryan, many passionate minds and the team at Red Chillies Entertainment.
“This one’s going to be all heart, all hustle, and a whole lot of entertainment.”
The storyline, set against the backdrop of Bollywood, is described as a multi-genre venture that combines high-stakes drama with self-aware humour.
In his announcement on social media, Shah Rukh referred to the day as a “special day”.
The Bollywood icon encouraged Aryan to “entertain people” with his storytelling.
Aryan has remained relatively low-key compared to his famous family, making this debut a significant step into the limelight.
Suhana Khan, Aryan’s sister and a budding actress, took to Instagram to celebrate her brother’s achievement.
She shared Netflix India’s announcement with a proud message, saying:
“Lots of laughs, drama, action, and a little bit of trouble—just like it always is with you. I cannot wait! So proud.”
Monika Shergill, VP of content for Netflix India, shared her enthusiasm for the partnership, praising Aryan’s bold and dynamic directorial vision.
She said: “We’re thrilled to partner with Red Chillies Entertainment once again… Aryan has created something truly one-of-a-kind and thoroughly entertaining.”
On Instagram, Netflix India revealed that the “one-of-a-kind Bollywood series” will be released in 2025.

Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut reacted to the big announcement.
She commended Aryan’s choice to work behind the camera rather than simply stepping into an acting role.
Kangana emphasised the need for individuals from film families to elevate the standards of Indian cinema:
“We should collectively uplift the standards of Indian cinema, that is the need of the hour.
“And those who have resources often end up taking the easiest roads. We need more people behind the cameras.
“Good that Aryan Khan is taking the road less travelled. Look forward to his debut as a writer and filmmaker.”
