Sania Mirza was subjected to trolling for supporting her husband Shoaib Malik as well as the Pakistan cricket team.
Pakistan had faced Australia in the second T20 World Cup semi-final.
Pakistan chose to bat first and set the Australians a target of 177 to win.
Australia got off to a poor start. A stunning first over from Shaheen Afridi left the team 2-1.
David Warner hit back with a respectable 49 from 30 balls.
Australia fought back with Marcus Stoinis and Matthew Wade taking the total to 22 runs from the final 12 balls.
Hassan Ali dropped Wade’s shot in the penultimate over before the Australian hit three consecutive sixes for the win.
The aftermath saw people take to Twitter and for some, they decided to troll Indian tennis player Sania Mirza.
She was spotted in the crowd cheering her husband and his team on.
This sparked a wave of netizens calling for Sania’s Indian nationality to be revoked.
One person wrote: “Thanks Pakistan for taking Sania Mirza… now please take Swara Bhaskar… Rana Ayyub. Please please please.”
Another said: “Cancel Sania Mirza’s Indian citizenship.”
A third person commented: “Sania Mirza should play for Pakistan. We don’t need her anymore.”
Others did not mind that she supported Pakistan, but urged her to be honest about it.
A user said: “Not surprised Sania Mirza supporting Pakistan.
“It’s perfectly fine. But she needs to be honest about it, not hypocritical.”
Many anti-Pakistan tweets were happy that Pakistan lost, but said that the tennis player was the only Indian unhappy.

Australia’s thrilling win ends Pakistan’s hopes of a second T20 World Cup title.
