"the fight we all want to see is the guy from Bolton."

According to reports, Amir Khan and Kell Brook will finally fight after agreeing on a deal.

The pair have been close to facing each other on a number of occasions throughout their respective careers.

However, talks frequently broke down due to a number of reasons from both parties.

They looked set to meet in December 2021, but again, a deal failed to materialise, with Khan claiming that the rivals could not agree on a weight to fight at.

Promoter Eddie Hearn had also said that “neither of them” were interested in the fight.

But according to the Mirror, Brook and Khan will fight at a catchweight of 150 pounds sometime in 2022. An official announcement is expected to be made soon.

The fight will take place at the Manchester Arena.

On November 10, 2021, Kell Brook revealed that he had signed the contract while it is believed that Khan signed his several weeks ago.

Although both former world champions are nearing the end of their careers and the fight has less interest, Brook still describes it as “the biggest fight in British boxing”.

Brook told IFL TV: “When you’ve been in the game for 26 years, you lose the taste for it.

“I need a big massive fight to get my teeth into.

“And the fight we all want to see is the guy from Bolton. I’ve signed my part of the fight.

“He just needs to come forward and sign his part and we’ve got the biggest fight in British boxing.”

“We’ve signed our bit, we’re doing what we’re doing.

“Listen, we don’t need to hide about it, everybody knows there are whispers. Everybody knows this fight needs to happen.

“I’ve not been in front of a camera. He’s been saying he wants it. I’ve done my thing, let’s see if he does his, and we’ve got the biggest fight in British boxing.

“I’ve got a feeling that the timing is now, but I’ve said that before, who knows with this guy.

“That’s the only fight that will excite me in boxing.”

Both men previously won world titles, with Khan being a light-welterweight champion and Brook reigning at welterweight.

Khan has not fought since 2019 when he defeated Australian Billy Dib in four rounds in Saudi Arabia.

Brook’s last fight came in 2020, suffering a knockout defeat to pound for pound boxer Terence Crawford in four rounds.
