"Is he even serious about wanting the fight?"
Amir Khan’s all-British clash with Kell Brook looks to be in doubt again as the pair cannot agree on the weight they would fight at.
The pair have been going back-and-forth for almost a decade with the intention of fighting each other. However, the bout has never come to fruition.
As both fighters are nearing the end of their careers, boxing fans feel that the fight is not as big, but the two former world champions remained in talks to make it happen.
But Khan has now revealed the latest obstacle in the negotiations as they cannot agree with the weight they should fight at.
In a Twitter post, Khan said: “Kell said he would fight at 147lbs.
“I agreed. Now Kell wants 149lbs. Then he wants 149.5lbs. Is he even serious about wanting the fight?”
Kell said he would fight at 147. I agreed… now Kell wants 149…
Then he wants 149.5

Amir Khan holds a professional record of 34 wins and five losses while Kell Brook’s record stands at 39 wins and three defeats.
Khan has not fought since July 2019. Brook’s last fight came in November 2020.
Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn previously said:
“Both guys want as much money as possible. So, we are a small piece of that. if there’s a deal to be done, there’s a deal to be done, but we’ll see.
“The other thing is, Amir Khan genuinely wants the fight, I believe.
“That’s always been the [problem]. Yes, you’ve always wanted the fight.”
Hearn’s interview in early 2021 was interrupted by Brook who asked if the fight was going to happen.
Hearn replied: “If everyone is sensible, yeah.”
But now Hearn has now said that the fight is not happening after revealing that “neither side wanted it anymore”.
He told iFL TV: “This fight is a busted fight, we have pulled out of that fight.
“You have got two guys sitting at home saying how do we make as much money as possible.
“Neither of them want it anymore. Neither of them, especially Kell.”
“But listen if they can get the money, and they can get you to pay for it then I’m sure people will but we are out of that fight, that’s not one for us.”
In July 2021, Eddie Hearn had said that talks were underway. He had told Behind the Gloves:
“I think you will get it, yeah. I think there are a few broadcasters looking at it.
“I don’t know if it will definitely happen but you do now have both guys looking at it.”
“It is still an intriguing fight, but at one stage it was for a world title and a legacy fight.
“Still a big fight, not what it once was, there are definitely talks.”
