"you don't have time to promote your industry film"
Ranveer Singh was subjected to trolling after he showed his support for a South Indian film.
The Bollywood star took to Twitter to promote and share the Hindi-dubbed trailer for Kamal Haasan’s upcoming Tamil film Vikram.
In a tweet, Ranveer wrote: “Cheers to my talented friend Lokesh @Dir_Lokesh and the legend of Indian cinema @ikamalhaasan! This trailer is fire.”
Fans of Kamal praised Ranveer, however, some Twitter users lashed out at the actor.
Some netizens claimed Ranveer has no time to support films from his own industry.
One user wrote: “You have time to promote other industry films but you don’t have time to promote your industry film #dhaakad.”
Others said Ranveer’s support of the film is part of Bollywood stars forming fake friendships with South Indian actors.
One person commented: “Now suddenly Bollywood is finding friends in South. The thin voice has to earn money.”
Another said: “On the other hand, their Bollywood is burnt so they came to support Tollywood.”

Vikram is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and it also stars Vijay Sethupathi. The film is expected to release on June 3, 2022.
Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh is currently in Cannes with his wife Deepika Padukone.
The pair were recently seen partying with actress Rebecca Hall.
In a viral picture, the trio are seen posing for the camera with serious facial expressions while the second one shows them laughing.
Ranveer looks dapper in a zebra print shirt while Deepika looks gorgeous in a white printed shirt paired with a pink skirt.
Rebecca Hall can be seen in a floral dress and accessorised the look with drop earrings.
Ranveer kept his promise to travel to Cannes as he previously commented on one of Deepika’s posts.
In the post, Deepika stunned in a red Louis Vuitton gown and statement jewellery.
In the comments, Ranveer wrote: “Killing me.”
He went on to say:
“Ok! That’s it! I’m taking a flight.”
On the work front, Ranveer is coming off the release of Jayeshbhai Jordaar.
The film was released on May 13, 2022, and it tells the story of a common man who becomes a courageous father and husband in order to save his unborn daughter.
Ranveer plays the titular character and is the son of Ramlal Patel (Boman Irani), the sarpanch of a village in Gujarat, and his equally conservative wife Anuradha (Ratna Pathak Shah).
The village is a society where men call the shots.
Jayeshbhai reluctantly nods along with every verdict made by his father.
But things change when he finds out that his wife (Shalini Pandey) is pregnant with their second daughter.
This does not sit well with Ramlal, who demands a grandson and a prospective sarpanch heir.
There are even attempts to convince her to have an abortion.
But Jayeshbhai stands by his wife and he goes on the run with his family.
