"My entire day was very disturbed because of it."
Saba Faisal recently stated that having sons is significant in one’s life.
Saba, Annie Zaidi and Laila Zuberi were guests on Nida Yasir’s Good Morning Pakistan.
They discussed the difference between daughters and sons.
Saba has two sons and one daughter. She has experienced the challenges and joys of raising both.
Despite the ups and downs, she shares a close bond with both Arsalan and Salman, as well as their wives.
On the other hand, Laila Zuberi is a mother to daughters. She expressed her happiness in having daughters and never felt the need for sons.
Saba disagreed with this perspective, emphasising that the most important thing is for children to be healthy and respectful. Regardless of their gender, sons are equally valuable.
Laila Zuberi said: “Daughters and more caring towards parents I think. Sons have their own families to look after.”
Annie Zaidi said: “Daughters are more physically caring.
“Even after marriage, they keep asking, ‘Have you eaten?’ or ‘Have you taken your medicine?’
“Sons are also very loving and caring but they do not express it the same way.”
Saba Faisal stated: “Since I have both sons and daughters, I would like to share my experience. There are a lot of problems that come with sons no doubt.
“My sister has daughters only. She used to say that thank God I don’t have any sons. Her husband died and her daughters are abroad.
“She called me the other day and she went on crying and crying. My entire day was very disturbed because of it.
“I asked her why she was crying. She said that she was driving and the car just stopped mid-way.
“She said that she didn’t know what to do. She was extremely stressed.
“When you have sons, you do not have such stress. The support and safety that sons bring is very important.”
Many viewers agreed with Saba Faisal’s point of view.
A user said: “In Pakistan especially, you need a male to be safe. Whether it is a father, brother, husband, or son. There is always a need for them.”
One said: “Being a single mother of a daughter, the world seems terrifying. It makes me realise how much I need a son.”
Another wrote: “Women can be strong too. Some daughters are way more helpful than sons ever could be.”
