“Of course, such things affect us.“

Rupali Ganguly, the beloved star of Anupamaa, has found herself at the centre of controversy.

This came after her stepdaughter, Esha Verma, accused her of breaking up her parents’ marriage.

In a public statement, Esha went as far as to claim that Rupali threatened both her and her mother.

She also accused her of emotional and verbal abuse.

The controversy reignited when Esha’s 2020 post resurfaced online, causing a media frenzy.

In the post, Esha made strong allegations against Rupali.

This included claims that Rupali had visited their home in New Jersey and slept in the bed that Esha’s parents once shared.

Esha also detailed the emotional toll that she and her mother suffered as a result of Rupali’s actions.

She described the whole experience as traumatic.

Esha, who had largely stayed out of the public eye since then, gave an emotional interview.

She stood by her claims and expressed the anguish she and her mother experienced.

In response to the accusations, Rupali Ganguly has taken legal action, sending a Rs. 50 crore defamation notice to Esha.

The notice claimed that Esha’s comments had caused serious harm to Rupali’s reputation, career, and financial standing.

According to the legal document, Esha’s statements were not only false but also damaging, affecting Rupali’s dignity and professional life.

In her first public comments on the controversy, Rupali opened up about the emotional toll the accusations have taken on her.

She admitted that, despite her best efforts to stay unaffected, such personal attacks are hard to ignore.

Rupali stated: “If I tell you that these things don’t affect me, then I’d be lying.

“Of course, such things affect us. We are humans, after all. It hurts when someone passes even a tiny comment behind our back.”

However, Rupali remained composed and focused on her belief in the power of positivity and good deeds.

She said: “The ones who love me will continue doing so. Keep doing good deeds, and good things will happen to you, today or in the future.”

Rupali Ganguly emphasised that everyone faces challenges and tough times, but in the end, truth prevails.

She added:

“Everyone goes through rough phases, bad things do happen, but eventually, the truth always wins.”

In the wake of the defamation notice, Esha deleted all the posts related to her stepmother from her social media accounts.

The back-and-forth between the two has garnered significant media attention, and it remains to be seen how the situation will unfold.
