"I'm going to have the time of my life bringing you down."

The enmity between Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) and Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) has reached a breaking point in the BBC’s EastEnders.

In the show’s early BBC iPlayer release on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, Ravi declared war on the corrupt policeman.

Viewers of EastEnders recently saw Ravi and Jack reach an reluctant alliance after Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) got shot during a scuffle between the pair.

Although the gun belonged to Ravi, Jack pulled the trigger, implicating them both in the shooting.

Ravi and Jack started to work together to dispose of the firearm, but after a conversation with his colleague, DS Spencer (Florence Howard), Jack decided to risk betraying Ravi.

In the latest episode of the show, Jack sneaked into Ravi’s flat and planted the gun underneath his bed.

Narrowly escaping from Ravi’s partner, Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy), Jack lied to his wife, Denise Fox (Diane Parish), that he was in Ravi’s flat to fix the boiler.

The police officer further assured Denise that neither he nor Ravi had anything to do with Zoe getting shot.

However, Denise ended up telling Priya that Jack had fixed their boiler, leading Priya to question Ravi.

It did not take long for Ravi to work out what Jack had done, and he made his way over to his rival’s house.

Although Jack claimed that he had disposed of the gun, he was shocked when Ravi showed him the weapon.

With a sneer, Ravi said: “All you had to do was destroy the evidence, simple as that.

“But no, you just couldn’t resist the chance of screwing me over.”

Jack protested: “That gun being used in other crimes is on you, not me.”

Ravi asked: “What was it going to be, Jack? What was your plan?

“Another dawn raid, police smashing down my door? Or a rude awakening with my kids in the house again?

“That’s some nerve, that is. Breaking into my flat, hiding that gun under my bed, when it was you who pulled the trigger.”

Ravi then asked Jack if his betrayal was about Denise, and whether he was still threatened by him.

Jack told Ravi to “dream on”, to which the drug-dealer replied:

“The only thing I’m going to be dreaming about is ways to destroy you.”

Jack tried to reason with Ravi and said: “You wanted to get rid of that gun. Just take it, get rid of it.”

Ravi replied: “No, Jack. You’ve just started a war. And I’m going to have the time of my life bringing you down.”

Towards the end of the episode, Ravi relished telling Denise: “Yes, I was there.

“But Jack was the one who pulled the trigger.”

In upcoming episodes of EastEnders, Jack’s guilt over his part in Zoe’s shooting leads to him wanting to confess everything.

This will lead to Denise turning to Ravi for help.

Ravi Gulati declares War on Jack Branning in EastEnders - 1Meanwhile, a concerned Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) will try to stall George Knight (Colin Salmon), who is set on exposing the truth about Harry’s involvement in Ravi’s drug operation.

When Ravi gets wind of George’s intentions, Harry is worried when Ravi declares he will handle George himself.

Will Harry be able to save George from Ravi’s clutches?

Ravi and Jack’s rivalry began in 2023 when Ravi seduced Denise.

The torn wife went as far as meeting Ravi in a hotel room, but ultimately could not go through with sleeping with him.

In February 2025, as part of the show’s 40th anniversary celebrations, viewers were given the opportunity to vote on whether Denise should choose Jack or Ravi.

The vote resulted in Denise deciding to reunite with Jack. More recent episodes saw Ravi rekindle his spark with Priya.

EastEnders continues on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
