Priyanka Chopra has announced that her new Indian restaurant in New York City is set to open later in March 2021.
The actress and now-restauranteur took to social media to announce that she is the co-owner of a restaurant called SONA.
The new restaurant will be located on 36 East 20th Street in the city’s Flatiron district.
In addition to a picture of the restaurant’s sign, Priyanka also shared pictures of a puja ceremony that she performed at the space in 2019 with her husband Nick Jonas and mother Madhu Chopra.
Priyanka wrote: “I’m thrilled to present to you SONA, a new restaurant in NYC that I poured my love for Indian food into.
“SONA is the very embodiment of timeless India and the flavours I grew up with.
“The kitchen is helmed by the incredible Chef Hari Nayak, a masterful talent, who has created the most delicious and innovative menu, taking you on a food journey through my amazing country.
“SONA is opening later this month, and I can’t wait to see you there!
“This endeavour would not have been possible without the leadership of my friends Maneesh Goyal and David Rabin.
“Thank you to our designer Melissa Bowers and the rest of the team for realising this vision so clearly.”
On the puja ceremony, Priyanka added:
“The second and third photos were taken in September 2019 when we performed a small intimate Puja (prayer ceremony) to bless the space that would soon become SONA. Godspeed!”

Following Priyanka’s announcement, messages of congratulations started to pour in.
One user wrote: “Congratulations and all the very best PC.”
Child actress YaYa Gosselin said:
“I need to go eat there next week when I’m back in NYC. I wish I could have dinner with you!”
Her father-in-law, Kevin Jonas posted on his Instagram Stories:
“Congratulations Priyanka Chopra, when do we eat?!”
Priyanka responded: “Anytime senior! It’s yours.. @papakjonas.”
Other netizens praised the actress’ work ethic.

In addition to opening a new restaurant, Priyanka Chopra has a number of films lined up.
She will star in the romantic drama Text For You alongside Sam Heughan and Celine Dion.
The actress will also appear in the fourth instalment of The Matrix.
