"So, I figured I'd humour him."

A Pakistani woman detailed how she outsmarted a WhatsApp scammer and how it humorously unfolded.

The scammer’s attempt involved him claiming that her husband was gay and in a relationship with him.

But his attempt to con her backfired as she used the opportunity to toy with him.

The woman, who goes by the name ‘Jorjor wel’ on X, shared the incident.

She wrote: “Weirdest s*** happened.

“Someone got my number from I don’t know where.

“Thought my last name was my husband’s and tried to tell me he was gay.

“Being told my 70-year-old very strict military dad is gay wasn’t on my list for 2024. So, I figured I’d humour him.”

The scammer, who introduced himself as Ahmed, had mistakenly identified the woman’s surname as her husband’s.

The Pakistani woman shared the screenshots of her chat with Ahmed in the post.

Ahmed claimed he learnt about her “marriage” in February 2024 and intended to confront her about their supposed relationship.

He “blurted” out saying Habib and he had been together for the past two and a half years.

Not buying the claims, the Pakistani woman flipped the script in her favour.

She humorously expressed her “desire to divorce” her husband and reunite with her “boyfriend”, feigning “relief” at the news.

The situation took a funny turn when the woman fabricated a story about “her husband contracting HIV”.

She then thanked Ahmed for his “loyalty”.

The post went viral and X users were thoroughly entertained by the funny turn of events.

One user asked: “What happened after that?? You stopped at the most intense part of the conversation.”

The woman revealed that the scammer was left speechless and she eventually blocked him.

Others urged her to continue the story.

One comment read:

“Come on, don’t leave us hanging now. There has got to be a continuation.”

A user posted: “This had me in tears. You’re a bigger player than him.

Another wrote: “This is the funniest thing I’ve seen all week.”

In subsequent tweets, the woman admitted that she didn’t know what scam the man was trying to carry out but she found it funny.

She said: “Anyway I don’t know what kind of scam this is but it was funny.”

Another tweet suggested that she wanted to toy with the fraudster more.

“I wish I’d taken my time and f****d with him a little more but I got excited.”
