"Punishment for common man or star kid should be equal."

A new hashtag, #NoBailOnlyJail, is trending on Twitter amid the Aryan Khan drug case.

It comes as Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan’s son attended his second bail hearing on Wednesday, October 13, 2021.

Khan previously appeared at the Esplanade Court in Mumbai on Friday, October 8, 2021, but was denied bail at the time.

Instead, he was remanded to 14 days of judicial custody as India’s Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) advised against his release.

The NCB said it would negatively affect the case, alleging that Khan could tamper with evidence and influence witnesses.

Arbaaz Merchant, who is believed to have shared narcotics with him, was also denied bail by the court.

Munmun Dhamechat, another suspect in the high profile case, was not released either.

Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh said at the time: “They are influential persons.

“There is a chance of tampering with evidence.

“Had it been one person with small quantity, it would be different.

“We have a lot of material, protection like bail at this stage will hamper the investigation.”

Netizens agree that Aryan Khan should not be released on bail and have created #NoBailOnlyJail to support this.

One person tweeted: “Punishment for common man or star kid should be equal.

“No more privilege for celebrities, this is New India.

“I support this trend. #NoBailOnlyJail.”

Journalist Nitin Shukla suggested that Khan should be jailed.

Netizens supported the journalist’s opinion, tagging him in their tweets.

Another person added:

“Bollywood druggies commit crime, go to jail and roam free to commit more crime after jail.”

“Till when? #NoBailOnlyJail.”

Khan was arrested after a Cordelia Cruises ship making its way to Goa was targeted in a police raid.

Substances including cocaine, MDMA and Mephedrone are all believed to have been consumed aboard the ship.

The NCB said that they had received a tip-off that a party was being held on the cruise so boarded, posing as passengers.

The 23-year-old was first detained on Sunday, October 3, 2021, and then quizzed at the bureau’s base in Mumbai.

However, his lawyer Amit Desai, who once represented Salman Khan, said Khan hadn’t even checked into the cruise yet.

He said: “The allegation of illicit trafficking is inherently absurd.

“This boy who has nothing, he was not even on the vessel.

“It is an absurd and false allegation.”

The court has been adjourned to 12 pm on Thursday, October 14, 2021, meaning that Aryan Khan will spend another night in jail.
