Khan began his career in a supporting role in Biwi Ho To Aisi (1988) which starred legendary actress Rekha and the late Farooq Shaikh.

However, he was soon cast in a lead role in Maine Pyar Kiya (1989) opposite Bhagyashree who was making her acting debut at the time.

Khan then went on to star in a number of films throughout the 90s before a short-lived period of decline in the early noughties.

His career then picked back up when he began starring in action films such as Dabangg (2010), Ek Tha Tiger (2012), and Sultan (2016).

Although the star has won a number of awards and accolades, he has also faced a number of 0ff-screen controversies.

Most recently, Khan was sentenced to five years imprisonment after being convicted in an antelope poaching case in 2018.

In 2015, he was convicted of culpable homicide after running over five people and killing one but the conviction was set aside on appeal.

The actor has also previously come under fire for his treatment of his ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

It is thought that Beyond The Star: Salman Khan will delve into these issues and provide him with the opportunity to give his version of events.

Khan is currently hosting Bigg Boss 15 which began on Saturday, October 2, 2021, and is being broadcast on Colors TV.

Speaking of the latest series, he previously said: “The facilities that contestants will get this time will be lesser than before.

“They will only get a tiny survival kit, they will be punished, and luxury budgets will be slashed.”

The actor has been associated with the hit reality show ever since season 4 in 2010 and has been its highest-paid host ever.

It is believed that Salman Khan will be paid a whopping Rs. 350 Crore (£34 million) for 14 weeks of work this year.
