An Indian man dumped his girlfriend for not getting pregnant. They had been in a live-in relationship for 14 years.

However, things took a turn when the woman filed a rape case against her lover in anger.

The incident happened in Jaipur, Rajasthan.

It was reported that the woman filed a police case against 34-year-old software engineer Sonu Kumar Jat sometime in October 2021.

She explained that she had been married but after separating from her husband, she entered a relationship with Sonu.

They lived together for 14 years and when she discussed the prospect of marriage, he considered it. However, she believed that he was lying to her.

In her complaint, the woman alleged that Sonu raped her several times under the pretext of marriage.

She then told police that when she did not get pregnant, Sonu ended the relationship and moved out.

Although a police case was registered in October, Sonu was not located until January 2022 as he fled after finding out about the police case.

The Indian man went on the run because he was falsely accused of rape.

He spent several months living with relatives in different cities in the state, including Alwar.

Sonu handed himself in on January 6, 2022, after getting upset. He appeared in front of a court before he was arrested.

During questioning, Sonu was told that the woman had accused him of falsely promising marriage and raping her several times.

He dismissed his girlfriend’s claims, explaining that he genuinely wanted to marry her and that sex between the couple was consensual.

But when she could not get pregnant, he refused to get married. Sonu said that he ended the relationship and moved out.

Despite the relationship ending, the woman insisted on being with him.

It was reported that there had been a conversation between Sonu and his girlfriend about withdrawing the FIR.

The woman wanted to continue her relationship with Sonu.

She told him that she would not withdraw the police complaint if he did not feel the same way.

Police are investigating the case to determine whether the woman’s rape allegations were true.

Meanwhile, Sonu remains in custody.

In a previous live-in relationship case, a man murdered his partner because he suspected that she was having an affair.

The matter came to light when the victim, Marina Darbunja Lalmangsami, was found injured at their home.

She later died in hospital.

Police spoke to neighbours and discovered that the couple would argue on a regular basis. Their rows escalated when Kurioe was accused of having an affair.

A police officer explained: “The accused did not tell us about any fight but when we conducted an inquiry with the neighbours and their friends, it was revealed that they would frequently fight in the house.

“Recently, the accused was suspected of being in a relationship with another person, which was resulting in the live-in couple having heated arguments.

“On Sunday too, they fought and the accused assaulted her.”
