Netizens applaud Vijay Deverakonda for Organ Donation

Vijay Deverakonda pledged his organs at a private hospital in Hyderabad. The actor claimed that organ donation is not widespread in India.

On Children’s Day, PACE Hospitals, in association with the Liver Pancreas Foundation of Hyderabad, organised a Paediatric Liver Transplantation Awareness Program.

A 24/7 emergency liver helpline for children with liver diseases was also launched.

Vijay Deverakonda graced the program as the chief guest.

While addressing the attendees, Vijay said that he has donated his organs.

The pan-India star further said that he would love to be a part of someone else’s life after his demise.

Vijay also mentioned that he does not find any point in wasting his organs.

He said: “The importance of organ donation has to be emphasised today. The Liver Pancreas Foundation of Hyderabad has been set up with the right intention.

“I came to know that many organ transplantation surgeries happen because of public donor ship supported by the government.

“It is incredible that we have so many people donating their organs on humanitarian grounds.”

He added: “In South Asia, organ donation is not going great guns. I have pledged all my organs.”

Not only Vijay, but his mother too has pledged her organs.

Vijay pointed out: “You continue to live on in some way if you donate your organs. Your generosity will keep you alive.”

His decision drew applause from netizens and his fans as well.

This is not the first time Vijay Deverakonda has supported a noble cause.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, he helped middle-class families with financial support.

On the work front, Vijay Deverakonda is busy shooting for his next film, Kushi. Samantha Ruth Prabhu is the female lead in the film.

Directed by Shiva Nirvana, the film is expected to release in 2023.

Further, if rumours are to be believed, the Arjun Reddy actor will be playing the son of Mohanlal in Vrushabha, which was announced in August 2022.

The period action drama Vrushabha will go on floors in 2023.

The film will be shot in Malayalam and Telugu and will be released in 2024.

The Liger actor also announced his new project with the Indian director Sekhar Kammula.

He also has a project with the Tollywood director Gowtam Naidu Tinnanuri in the pipeline.

Meanwhile, earlier, there were speculations that Vijay Deverakonda was approached by the makers of Brahmastra to play the part of Dev in the film’s second part.

However, no official announcement has been made yet.
