According to Nasir, her husband, Mohammad Rashid, is a Pakistani working in Dubai’s CID, earning a monthly salary of PKR 17 lakh.
He clarified: “Rashid is not an Arab, as many speculated, but a Pakistani.
“The mayoun ceremony took place in Karachi, while the nikkah ceremony was held in Dubai.”
Nasir also mentioned that Neelam preferred a private wedding to avoid her personal life being thrust into the spotlight, though rumours inevitably surfaced.
He praised Neelam for her grounded nature and patience, expressing confidence in her ability to maintain a strong marriage.
Nasir said: “She’s a calm and sensible person. I don’t think she would let her marriage fail, even if challenges arise.”
The writer also addressed Neelam’s professional journey, shedding light on her struggles in the film industry.
He stated that her limited success wasn’t due to a lack of talent but rather the decline in Pakistan’s film industry during her entry.
He explained: “She came in at a time when the industry, even in Karachi, was going through a downturn.”
