"Now is the time to declare war against Shaan Shahid."
A public spat between veteran actor Shaan Shahid and writer Nasir Adeeb has erupted into a full-blown controversy.
The conflict began during a press conference for the upcoming film Bullah, when Shaan Shahid was asked why the film’s writer was not present.
Responding to the question, Shaan took a sarcastic swipe, remarking that the writer “must be speaking negatively of someone on his vlog,” a comment that instantly raised eyebrows.
The statement did not go unnoticed, and shortly afterwards, Nasir Adeeb released a lengthy video on his YouTube channel addressing the remark directly.
In the video, Nasir framed the incident as deeply personal and professionally insulting, stating:
“I believe in forgiving others, but when injustice turns into cruelty, it is time to declare war against the cruel person.”
He went further, announcing: “Now is the time to declare war against Shaan Shahid, who has degraded and disgraced me live in front of the press.”
Nasir explained that his absence from the press conference was not an act of disrespect or avoidance, but a pre-informed personal commitment.
According to him, the producer had already been told that his presence was unnecessary and that he would attend the film’s premiere instead.
He stressed that the press event was still attended by major cast members, including Shaan Shahid, Mona Lisa, and Saleem Sheikh.
Recalling the moment that triggered his response, Nasir said the remark humiliated not just him, but writers as a collective creative force.
He asserted: “I host a podcast where I state facts. I have never hurled false allegations at anyone.”

The writer questioned the basis of Shaan’s accusation, asking:
“Where have you seen me speaking against you or anyone else?”
He also claimed that he had previously spoken positively about Shaan during a show, contradicting the idea of habitual backbiting.
Escalating the confrontation, Nasir made several explosive claims about Shaan’s professional conduct within the industry.
He alleged that he once advised Bullah’s director against casting Shaan, citing punctuality issues, creative interference, and difficult behaviour.
Describing Shaan as hard to handle, Nasir said: “I warned him and asked if he could manage Shaan Shahid.”
Despite this criticism, he acknowledged Shaan’s stature, claiming he once called him “a bigger artist than Shah Rukh Khan.”
However, he accused the actor of damaging the local industry by refusing to compromise financially and professionally.
Nasir alleged that Shaan was willing to work in India but demanded four crores INR, a condition that allegedly stalled opportunities.
“You ruined the industry because you were not ready to compromise on your payments.”
The writer is no stranger to controversy and has previously faced backlash for outspoken remarks, including comments involving Reema Khan.
The ongoing feud has divided public opinion, with some defending Shaan Shahid’s blunt humour while others sympathise with Nasir Adeeb’s grievance.
