“They did not invite me the following year.”

Nabeel Zafar has slammed the Government Awards, claiming that they are “unjust”.

In recent years, these awards have faced scrutiny from the public for their apparent instability and uncertainty.

Recently, Mehwish Hayat and Sajal Aly received the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, sparking controversy among the public, who questioned their achievements.

Meanwhile, Nabeel Zafar, a seasoned veteran of the industry, shared his thoughts on the awards in a podcast.

He said: “If you need to justify your award, and if you have to tell the reason why you got an award, you shouldn’t have received it in the first place.

“An award is for the purpose of appreciation only. And you make the wrong judgment of appreciation when you don’t give an award to the person who actually deserves it.

“This is how they spread injustice in the whole society.”

He discussed the various awards for artists and revealed that he once served on the jury for an award show.

However, he asked a lot of questions and took a stand against unjust judgements.

Nabeel revealed: “They did not invite me the following year.”

He highlighted the importance of merit and credibility in award recognition.

His experience as a judge also raised questions about the transparency and accountability of these award-giving bodies.

The controversy surrounding Mehwish Hayat and Sajal Aly’s awards have sparked a broader conversation about the criteria and selection process for these honours.

The public has built their own opinions.

A user said: “I always knew that these actresses did not get those awards based on talent.”

Another added: “Sajal Aly’s award is justified, what did Mehwish get Tamgha-e-Imtiaz for? She is a terrible actress.”

However, others did not appreciate Nabeel Zafar’s critique.

One wrote: “I think Nabeel is just crying because he never got a famous award for anything ever.

“It is not just talent that matters, it is mostly looks. And Nabeel clearly does not have any nor did he ever have any.”

Another commented: “Nabeel thinks that just because he is a senior actor, he is entitled to pass negative comments on younger stars.

“He is sitting on a podcast ranting, while those stars are out there making a name for themselves. Such a jealous loser.”

With a career spanning decades, Nabeel Zafar gained fame with his long-running sitcom Bulbulay.
