Simone Ashley is stepping into darker territory with psychological thriller This Tempting Madness, which has released its first trailer and poster ahead of its June launch.

The film is directed by Jennifer E Montgomery in her feature directorial debut. It also stars Suraj Sharma and Austin Stowell.

Simone plays Mia, a young woman who wakes from a coma after a near-fatal fall. Severely injured and unable to fully remember what happened, she discovers her husband has vanished.

As fragments of her past begin resurfacing, Mia struggles to separate truth from illusion.

Love, fear and guilt start to blur together, leaving her questioning her own actions and perception of reality.

The official synopsis states: “After a near-fatal fall, Mia awakens from a coma grievously injured, her memory fractured, and her husband missing.

“As fragments of her past resurface, love, guilt, and fear begin to blur together until she can no longer tell what’s even real.

“Haunted by doubt and desire, Mia’s search for the truth leads her to question not only her past but herself and her perception of reality.

“Who is she and what really happened?”

The film is said to be inspired by a true story and leans heavily into psychological suspense.

The cast also includes Mojean Aria, Zenovia Shroff and Amol Shah.

The screenplay was written by Andrew M Davis and Jennifer E Montgomery. Producers include Davis, Montgomery, Mimi Chang, William Day Frank, Jessica Malanaphy and Marcei A Brown.

This Tempting Madness premiered at the International Film Festival of India.

The thriller will arrive in select cinemas and on-demand platforms on June 12, 2026.

The newly released trailer hints at a tense and emotionally disorienting mystery, with Mia caught between fragmented memories and disturbing truths.

Simone Ashley has continued building momentum in Hollywood.

She is currently starring in The Devil Wears Prada 2, playing Miranda Priestly’s new first assistant Amari.

On how she made the role her own, Simone told Hollywood Reporter:

“Emily (Emily Blunt), in the original movie, the comedy comes from a place of this ball of anxiety.

“But Amari is kind of the opposite. She’s very confident, very grounded.

“And the way she holds herself is quite regal and poised. So that was just really fun to play with. And it was fun for the comedy to come out of that place, that sassiness, that chicness.”
