Indian playback singer and performer Mika Singh’s manager Soumya Zoheb Khan was found dead at the singer’s studio on February 3, 2020, in Mumbai, India.
Inspector P Bhosle from the Versova police station reported that 30-year-old Soumya supposedly killed herself by consuming sleeping pills.
The manager’s lifeless body was discovered on the first floor of Mika’s studio at Bungalow No 19, MHADA colony in the SVP Nagar area of Four Bungalows, in the living room area.
It was revealed that Soumya was, in fact, residing on the first floor of the studio.
According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Soumya body was found on Friday, at around 10.15pm.
Allegedly, Mika Singh’s manager returned to the studio from a late-night party in the early hours of the morning at around 7am.
The ground floor workers at the studio found it strange that Soumya did not come out of the studio in the late evening.
As a result of this, the workers went upstairs to inquire about Soumya only to find her motionless body lying on the ground. Inspector Bhosle said:
“At around 10.15pm, some workers, who were on the ground floor of the studio went upstairs to inquire.”
The manager was rushed to the hospital where she was, unfortunately, pronounced dead.
The report continued to mention that Soumya, who has been working with Mika Singh for quite some time, was suffering from depression. Inspector Bhosle said:
“On account of her family issues and depression, she was staying alone on the first floor of (Mika) Singh’s studio.”
It is believed her depression was due to family problems. It was confirmed Soumya died from a drug overdose.
The post-mortem reports also did not suggest any kind of foul play in her demise.
Mika Singh took to Instagram to announce the news of Soumya’s untimely demise. The singer shared a picture of Soumya smiling with the caption:
“Waheguru ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki fateh. Very sad to Announce that, Our dead @saumya.samy has left us for heavenly abode, leaving behind with us her Beautiful memories she left this world at a very young age.
Mika Singh went on to share his condolences with Soumya’s family. He said:
“May God bless her soul rest in peace. My heartfelt condolences to her family and her husband @official-zohebkhan.”
Undoubtedly, this news shocked those who knew Soumya Khan.
