"I cannot believe this just happened."
Mia Khalifa made her runway debut for KNWLS at the brand’s spring/summer 2024 showcase.
Dubbed ‘Petrol’, the catwalk took place at the Grade II-listed Old Billingsgate – formerly a London market and now repurposed into a multi-functional events space.
The collection was classic KNWLS such as lace-up corsetry, semi-sheer flares and pumped-up leather jackets.
KNWLS’s Claw Moto jacket and Razr Bags made a triumphant return to the runway, alongside the brand’s long-standing partnership with Parisian jewellery label Panconesi.
Jagged enamelled spikes and serpentine hoop earrings acted as perfect accompaniments to the rebellious garments, punctuated by feminine silhouettes like asymmetrical skirts and minidresses.
One of the event’s biggest surprises was Mia Khalifa, who closed out the show.
The former adult film star stepped out onto the pebbled runway in a figure-hugging cutaway dress with a halter neckline.
While the dress tightly clung to her curves, a panel at the waist flashed a glimpse of her abs.
Her hair was slicked down into a sleek side parting while the bold makeup and blue ear gauge showcased the grunge girlie fashion trend.
Mia completed her look with some white strappy heels.
The moment proved to be a memorable one for Mia and she wrote on Instagram:
“AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!! I cannot believe this just happened.
“Thank you, @knwlslondon, I’m beyond honoured to close your SS24 show in such an elegant set.
“I love you and I’m so thankful for this small (huge to ME!!!!) part in your show, congratulations on the collection and CONGRATULATIONS to every model that walked DOWNNNNN tonight.
“Well yes, y’all are literally SUPERWOMEN, thank you for the tips and for being so welcoming to me. I will never forget this night.”
KNWLS replied: “Babe you KILLED IT!!! The look was made for you. Thank you so much! Iconic!”
Mia also took to X to share her journey, writing:
“This little girl from Beirut made it on Vogue Runway in KNWLS, I can’t stop crying.”
Fans congratulated Mia on her runway debut, with one person commenting:
“Congratulations Mia, keep doing you.
“Very happy for you and everything that has and will happen for you!”
Another said: “Absolute legend.”
A third wrote: “Girl! You are a superstar.”
While some fans were happy for her, other social media users decided to troll her.
One person asked: “Who let this pornstar on the runway?”
One brazen user said: “They’re really just letting anyone walk now.”
But not one to take the criticism, Mia fired back:
“Not you tho, h*e.”
