"We have initiated an inquiry into the incident"

Commuters at Bihar’s Patna Junction experienced a shock when the television screens at the station played an adult video.

It was reported that the bizarre incident happened at around 9:30 am on March 19, 2023.

The clip was on all screens on the crowded platform 10. It went on for nearly three minutes.

While some passengers were uncomfortable by the explicit footage, others found the incident amusing.

Railway Protection Force officials took notice of the incident after visitors to Patna Junction complained. They stopped the telecast and reported the matter to the Patna Railway Station officials.

It is reported that a private company is contracted with telecasting videos and adverts on railway station screens under the Danapur Division.

Prabhat Kumar, the official spokesperson of the DRM office in Danapur, stated that a probe is now underway.

He said: “We have initiated an inquiry into the incident and started the process of cancellation of the contract.

“We have registered an FIR against the company officials… It is an intolerable incident. We will blacklist this company.”

After a complaint was filed, the Government Railway Police (GRP) contacted Dutta Communications, which is in charge of displaying adverts at the station as well as the arrival and departure times of trains.

The Railways cancelled its contract with the company, put it on a “blacklist” and filed an FIR.

Mr Kumar said: “Railways has cancelled the contract of the agency and summoned its officials to Patna PF post for further investigation into the matter.”

Following the incident, the operator fled.

If he fails to turn up before the RPF team, railway security forces may seek an arrest warrant against him and other persons of the agency involved in such an act.

Patna RPF inspector Sushil Kumar said:

“The DRM immediately ordered an inquiry and asked the commercial officers concerned to terminate the agency’s contract with the railways.”

There are also questions as to why the clip was specifically shown on platform 10.

The incident prompted a lot of discussion on social media, with some expressing their outrage.

One user said:

“Shameful porn video suddenly started playing on the TV screen at Patna Junction.”

However, there were many that made fun of the situation, with memes posted on Twitter.

The incident also attracted the attention of American adult film star Kendra Lust.

She tweeted a picture of herself in a figure-hugging purple dress and simply wrote “India”, suggesting she was a fan of the explicit mishap.

In response to a fan, Kendra later said that she hoped the video was of her.
