Talk of the town is that Pakistani actress Maya Ali is to make her Bollywood debut opposite ‘Khiladi’ Akshay Kumar!
She is expected to star in the remake of the Tamil blockbuster Kaththi (2014), tentatively titled Ikka.
The Mann Mayal actress was invited to Mumbai recently to meet with the filmmakers.
While talking with Hip, Maya confirms: “I was approached for a film and I had met the male lead and the makers on my trip to India.
“It is surely in the process, but nothing is concrete as yet.”
The reigning queen of the Pakistani drama industry has been winning numerous awards, and melting hearts with her phenomenal performances over the years.
But it seems the Pakistani beauty may have some hesitations about working in a Bollywood film, due to her reservations about wearing revealing clothes.
On the other hand, fashion stylist and photographer Sadia Khan has also been approached for the same role.
The actress has posted a picture on Instagram with Akshay, sparking curiosity amongst her fans.
The two actresses have also been sightseeing in Mumbai, sharing selfies on Instagram as well as staying in the same hotel together.
One might assume that both of these Pakistani beauties would turn into arch enemies in an attempt to seize the role. But it seems like they’re keeping their relationship friendly.
Sadia, who is currently working with Imran Abbas on Khuda Aur Muhabbat, also has the same reservations as Maya and won’t feel comfortable in performing an ‘item song’.
As one of the leading contemporary actors and the ‘Jackie Chan’ of Bollywood, Akshay has given us many super-hits throughout the years, whether that be his breakthrough movie Khiladi (1992), or his most recent performance in Airlift (2016).
He is listed as one of the most successful actors in the history of Indian cinema, so grabbing a role with this handsome hunk will most certainly give a boost to the girls’ career!
As for Maya Ali and Sadia Khan, a debut in Bollywood could be life-changing, opening windows of opportunities.
But we’ll have to wait and see which Pakistani beauty Akshay will definitely be wooing in his upcoming 2017 release!
