"What a time to choose to post this.”

Mark Wright came under fire for sharing what many called an insensitive post on the day of the Air India tragedy.

The former TOWIE star posted a photo of himself, wife Michelle Keegan and their baby, Palma, posing in front of a private plane.

In the caption, he appeared to complain about flying in economy class:

“1 day babe, for now we’ll take row 26 with no extra leg room.”

The post went live just hours after news broke that an Air India plane carrying 242 people had crashed while en route to London Gatwick.

At least 265 people have been confirmed dead, including passengers and people on the ground.

The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner went down just seconds after takeoff, crashing into a residential building that housed doctors.

British national Viswash Ramesh is believed to be the only survivor, having leapt from the emergency door. He was filmed walking away from the wreckage.

Mark Wright’s post quickly drew backlash online, as one person wrote:

“Prob not the best day to post this when so many people lost their lives on a plane.”

Another added: “Not really appropriate to put this up after today’s plane crash.”

A third said: “What a time to choose to post this.”

Others called it “poor taste” and questioned the timing of the post.

Mark has since removed the photo and issued an apology, blaming the gaffe on an admin error.

He said: “I apologise for a post I just put up on my page after today’s heartbreaking events.

“I have posts from a holiday that are on the scheduled setting, which go out on future days I have set them for which was done last week.

“It’s a horrendous coincidence that today’s post was on such a devastating day.”

“Once I logged in to my Instagram and realised the post had gone out, I immediately deleted.

“My heart goes out to everyone who has been affected from today. I’m sorry for this mistake and any offence caused.”

Mark had been holidaying in Spain with his daughter and extended family.

The Air India crash is one of the worst aviation disasters in recent years. Among the 242 people onboard were 53 British nationals. Emergency services are continuing rescue and recovery efforts at the scene.
