“I have tears in my eyes. Do such dads exist?”
YouTuber and Instagram influencer Maimoona Shah recently shared a video clip in which she was conversing with her father.
He can be heard asking for her permission before he says yes to her marriage proposal.
Maimoona’s family is Pakhtoon, so they were speaking in Pashto. It was a touching family moment and her sister’s voice could be heard off camera.
After giving her approval to her father, Maimoona proceeded to embrace her father.
She previously announced that she had tied the knot.
The video has been circulating on various social media pages.
The YouTuber also uploaded another clip which showcased the groom acting shy and cute in her presence.
It was captured at the moment in which he had come to her house to ask for her hand.
Netizens were very touched after seeing the father-daughter bonding in the video, as it is not common in Pakistani families.
One person wrote: “Omg such a beautiful moment!”
Another remarked: “That hug was a deep emotion.”

People also appreciated her father for setting a good example, saying this is the rightful way.
One user commented: “This is real Islam. Instead of saying istikhara (divine guidance) wasn’t in favour until the Prado waves in.”

However, there were many controversial comments as well, seeking the negative aspects of the shared video.
A lot of them were put off by how happy the bride-to-be looked.
One person remarked: “She’s so happy, it doesn’t look like an arranged marriage at all! She’s in love with the guy for sure!”
Another said: “They’ve been together for 5 years. It’s love marriage.”
One said: “This is most DEFINITELY a love marriage.”
Maimoona Shah’s fans quickly came to her defence and shielded her from the hate.
One of them wrote:
“If it’s a love marriage so what? Her father is still asking for her permission. Let people live.”
Another said: “Are these comments for real? She doesn’t have to be in a relationship to be happy about a good rishta.
“Even if she was indeed in a relationship it’s still fine. Learn to be happy for people without judgement.”
Maimoona Shah has been creating content for over six years and has nearly 600,000 followers on Instagram.
She is also a karate practitioner and won a silver medal in the Korean International Karate Championship.
