"It was a silly thing to do."

Pakistani actress Mahira Khan has finally reacted to her removal from the poster of the Bollywood film Raees (2017).

Mahira and Humayun Saeed are currently generating buzz as they promote their upcoming film Love Guru.

The film recently made headlines when its trailer was displayed at New York’s iconic Times Square.

This marked a historic moment for Pakistani cinema.

Appearing together on Maliha Rehman’s talk show, the duo reflected on their long-awaited collaboration.

The conversation also took a personal turn when Mahira addressed a past controversy involving her Bollywood debut.

The actress commented on her image being removed from the posters of Raees, which starred Shah Rukh Khan.

She said: “I didn’t feel bad about it, even for a second.

“It was a silly thing to do. I actually laughed.”

Humayun Saeed echoed her thoughts, calling the act “petty.”

Despite setbacks across the border, Mahira Khan remained optimistic about the strength of Pakistani entertainment.

She emphasised that local artists have many achievements worth celebrating.

Their film Love Guru, directed by Nadeem Baig and written by Vasay Chaudhry, is a romantic comedy with an emotional twist.

It follows a man, played by Humayun Saeed, who finds love only to face a major life responsibility.

It is handed to him by the father of his love interest, portrayed by Javed Sheikh.

The duo is currently on a promotional tour across the United States.

Videos of Mahira and Humayun dancing to the song ‘Aa Tenu Mauj Karawan’ have gone viral on social media, raising anticipation.

In another interview with Nukta Life, Mahira explained why she had previously declined several of Humayun Saeed’s film offers.

These included Jawani Phir Nahi Ani (2015), Punjab Nahi Jaungi (2017), and London Nahi Jaunga (2022).

Mahira Khan said: “I choose one project at a time and give it my full focus.

“When Punjab Nahi Jaungi was offered, I was already committed to Verna.”

Humayun admitted he always hoped to work with her, joking that Mahira may not be fond of romantic comedies.

Mahira revealed that it was director Nadeem Baig who finally convinced her to sign Love Guru.

With a multi-country release lined up, including Pakistan and the US, Love Guru is shaping up to be a milestone for both stars.

Fans have responded with excitement.

One user commented: “Finally! Mahira and Humayun in one movie again – it’s going to be magic.”

Another wrote: “That Times Square moment gave me chills. Proud of our cinema.”

A third added: “Mahira’s grace and Humayun’s charm? Unbeatable combo.”
