Married At First Sight UK took a dramatic turn after Steven Springett’s outburst at wife Nelly Patel after she confronted him about his celebrity hookup.
The episode saw tensions escalate when Julia-Ruth revealed that Steven had been boasting about his time on dating site Raya.
She alleged that he bragged about sleeping with a woman just two weeks before marrying Nelly.
Julia-Ruth told co-star Leah: “He was talking to the group and bragging about he was on Raya.
“How he had f****d a girl like two weeks before he came on here.
“Like, he kept bragging about it. I’ll call Maeve here, because she can affirm that.”
Earlier in the episode, Nelly revealed that Steven had gone to the pub with friends instead of looking after her when she fractured her rib after falling in the bath.
The other brides were unimpressed with his decision.
Nelly was eventually told about Steven’s antics before the show and confronted him.
She told him: “Do you know how it feels to have everyone tell you, ‘This is how Steven’s been acting’?”
Snapping back, Steven said: “Two weeks before an experiment, Nelly. Do you know how f**king silly that is, to come into the experiment?”
Nelly replied: “Don’t get mad at me.”
Steven exploded again: “F**king clownish, man.”
Nelly added that she was disappointed Steven had been speaking about ex-partners on a night out instead of being with her.
Steven also lashed out at the group: “Why the f*** does it matter what I do? People are starting to f*** me off.”
He then stormed out.
Steven later called the group “c***s”, shocking the MAFS experts watching from another room.
After the outburst, viewers flooded social media, calling for Steven’s removal from the show.
One fan wrote: “Steven’s time on this show is up. Time to send him home.”
Another commented: “Get Steven off my screen now. #mafsuk.”
A third viewer said:
“Narcissistic behaviour by Steven, vile behaviour that the producers and MAFS team should nip in the bud.”
“He’s an absolute monster, but, will always make it look like it’s Nelly’s fault.”
A fourth comment read: “Nelly wasn’t his number 1 priority because his stepdad was ill but… going out on the p**s was??”
The tense scenes came shortly after the pair enjoyed a romantic honeymoon in Jamaica.
