Madeha Naqvi, a renowned Pakistani anchor and host, returned to her morning show on Samaa TV after a three-week hiatus.
Her break was taken to grieve the loss of her mother, who passed away in May 2024.
Madeha Naqvi shared the news of her mother’s passing with her fans through an Instagram post.
In her first show back, Madeha Naqvi openly discussed her experience with trauma, grief and coping with the loss of her mother.
She expressed feeling lost and like it was her first show all over again.
Madeha also acknowledged her mother’s unwavering support, stating that her mother was her biggest critic, reviewer and closest friend.
She said: “My mother used to call me after the end of every single show of mine.
“She used to tell me the mistakes I made. Sometimes she used to call me during the live show and scold me. My mother’s words were always unfiltered.”
Explaining that her mother never missed a show, Madeha added that she was grateful to Samaa TV for giving her the space she needed during this difficult time.
Becoming visibly emotional, Madeha said:
“The channel was telling me to take more time. But I feel like this show will let me heal quicker because my mother used to love my show.”
Madeha Naqvi credited her institution for being close to her heart, as they allowed her to take the time she needed to grieve.
Apologising for getting emotional, Madeha requested prayers from her audience.
Madeha Naqvi’s heartfelt words touched her audience, who offered their support.
Madeha Naqvi’s career in the media industry spans many years, having risen to fame through her work on ARY News’ show Bakhabar Savera.
She is currently associated with Samaa TV and is married to Faisal Sabzwari. Her roots are in Lahore, where she hails from.
Despite her recent loss, Madeha Naqvi continues to inspire her audience with her courage and grace.
