Bobby Deol recently accepted a prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award for his late father, Dharmendra, at an event in Mumbai.

This emotional moment occurred during the Chetak Screen Awards ceremony.

The award was for the actor who passed away at 89 years old on November 24, 2025.

This grand posthumous honour was presented by famous director Ramesh Sippy, along with Javed Akhtar and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Bobby Deol appeared visibly moved and struggled to hold back his tears as he walked up to the grand stage.

He is the younger son of the veteran star and his first wife, Prakash Kaur, who lives in Mumbai.

Before the presentation, a touching montage played showing iconic scenes from the illustrious career of the late cinema legend.

Amitabh Bachchan provided a powerful voiceover for the video while reciting beautiful lines of poetry written by the actor himself.

His final cinematic performance was in the movie Ikkis, which was directed by the acclaimed filmmaker named Sriram Raghavan.

That film arrived in theatres on January 1, 2026, and earned widespread praise for the acting skills of the veteran star.

Bobby reflected on his father’s incredible resilience throughout a long career that spanned several decades in the Indian film industry.

The actor spoke about how his father opened many doors of love for the entire Deol family and his children.

He mentioned that he never expected to represent his father in such a capacity during an official awards night ceremony.

The crowd responded with great warmth as the son of the He Man of Bollywood expressed his deep personal gratitude.

“I see my father’s love in all your eyes. My father touched everyone’s hearts through his work and even through his Instagram reels, which had become his new hobby.

“He always wanted people to stay happy and believed that God has given all of us so much in life.

“He used to say that we all have a special gift within us, and if we believe in it, we can achieve anything.”

Bobby Deol thanked the organisers and the audience for showing such immense respect to his beloved and legendary father.

His words resonated with everyone present as he celebrated the life and legacy of the man he called best.

“That’s why he worked in this industry for so many years, he saw both good and bad times but never gave up.

“Wherever I go and whoever I meet, I receive so much love because my father opened people’s hearts for us, for me, my brother, and our family.

“People love him so much that they welcomed us into their hearts without hesitation.”

“And today, standing here, I feel like I’ll go home and tell him, ‘Papa, you couldn’t come, so I’ve brought your award with me’.”

“I feel very blessed and grateful to God for making me his son. Thank you so much. Papa, you are the best.”

The entire Indian film community continues to mourn the loss of a superstar who defined many eras of cinema.

Many celebrities in attendance were seen wiping away tears during the moving speech delivered by the Animal actor.
