"I see so many brown girls here today, I’m so happy!"
Global girl group KATSEYE lit up London on October 28, holding their first-ever fan event in the city and thrilling audiences with hits like Gnarly and Debut.
The six members, Daniela, Lara, Manon, Megan, Sophia, and Yoonchae, were spotted exploring the capital earlier in the day, donning chic off-duty looks before their exclusive event.
Their excitement was clear across social media, with Megan sharing that it was her first time in the UK.
Before the evening showcase, the group appeared on KISS Radio, where they discussed UK pop culture and slang.
Manon and Lara entertained fans by mimicking Essex accents and referencing Joey Essex’s viral song ‘Reem’.
Their light-hearted TikTok lip-sync of the track before arriving in London has since gained huge traction online.
During the London fan event, KATSEYE held a Q&A session moderated by Spice Girls legend Mel C.
It was here that member Lara Raj hinted at an exciting cultural direction for the group’s future music.
Addressing the crowd, Lara said: “I see so many brown girls here today, I’m so happy!”
Her words resonated deeply with the audience, reflecting the group’s growing South Asian fan base.
She continued: “I feel like making a genuine impact on culture, which is our biggest goal. Representation in music, changing pop music, that’s very important to us.”
Lara added that the group wants to “put our cultures into each one of our songs,” referencing how they incorporated cultural elements into their track ‘Gabriella’.
She also revealed that they hope to experiment with “other languages” in upcoming projects, sparking fan speculation that a Tamil track could soon be in the works.
Following the event, Lara reshared fan clips on her Instagram Story, writing: “Thank you for such a special night, London.”
Her heartfelt post further fuelled anticipation about KATSEYE’s next move.

The London stop comes as the group prepares for their first-ever North American tour, which kicks off in November with thirteen dates across major cities.
KATSEYE’s rise has been rapid since emerging from HYBE and Geffen Records’ competition The Dream Academy, later chronicled in Netflix’s Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE.
They debuted in 2024 with singles ‘Debut’ and ‘Touch’, the latter sparking a viral TikTok dance trend that cemented their global presence.
Their second EP, Beautiful Chaos, released in June 2025, earned critical acclaim for exploring modern girlhood and the blurred lines between digital and real life.
Its lead single, ‘Gnarly,’ became their first Billboard Hot 100 entry.
Beyond music, KATSEYE’s influence extends to fashion and culture.
From fronting a £1.3 million media value Gap campaign to starring in Fendi’s centennial collection and Coach’s Spring-Summer 2025 show, they’ve proven to be global trendsetters.
Collaborations with Glossier, Pandora, Lush, and Urban Outfitters further solidify their image as fashion icons with purpose.
Recognised by Vevo DSCVR and Tidal as artists to watch and nominated for two iHeart Radio Music Awards, KATSEYE’s cultural and artistic power continues to soar.
With their fusion of fearless creativity, authentic representation, and pop innovation, KATSEYE are not only redefining the modern girl group but also paving the way for more diverse voices in global pop music.
