Aamir Khan and his upcoming film Laal Singh Chaddha continue to face backlash and now, Kangana Ranaut has claimed that the actor “curated” the negativity.

The film is set to release on August 11, 2022, but it has received a lot of criticism for numerous reasons.

From it being a remake of the Hollywood classic Forrest Gump to casting choices, many have slammed Laal Singh Chaddha and have even called for a boycott of the film.

But according to Kangana, she claims that the negativity is actually a ploy by Aamir, calling him the “mastermind”.

In an Instagram Story, Kangana wrote:

“I think all the negativity around the upcoming release Laal Singh Chaddha is skillfully curated by mastermind Aamir Khan Ji himself.

“This year, no Hindi films have worked (barring one exception of a comedy sequel) only south films deeply rooted in Indian culture or with local flavour have worked.

“A Hollywood remake would have not worked anyway.”

In India, many Bollywood films have failed at the box office. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Gangubai Kathiawadi are just two exceptions.

Kangana continued: “But now they will call India intolerant, Hindi films need to understand the pulse of audiences it’s not about being a Hindu or Muslim.

“Even after Aamir Khan ji made Hinduphobic PK or called India intolerant, he gave the biggest hits of his life.

“Please stop making it about religion or ideology. It takes away from their bad acting and bad films.”

Calls to boycott Laal Singh Chaddha were so prominent that Aamir Khan reacted and urged people to watch the film.

He said: “I feel sad that some of the people who are saying this, in their hearts, believe that I am someone who doesn’t like India.

“But it is untrue. It is rather unfortunate that some people feel that way. That’s not the case.

“Please don’t boycott my film. Please watch my film.”

Laal Singh Chaddha also stars Kareena Kapoor and Mona Singh.

It will also mark the Bollywood debut of South superstar Naga Chaitanya.

The film releases on August 11, which will see it compete with Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan at the box office.
