"make sure coolness quotient is of this magnitude"
Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has made headlines once again for joining the recent debate surrounding women wearing ripped jeans.
Her reaction comes in the wake of the controversial remarks made by Uttarakhand’s Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat.
According to Rawat, ripped jeans set a bad example for society and are a bad influence on young people.
Now, Kangana Ranaut has joined the debate by sharing pictures wearing various pairs of her own ripped jeans.
Ranaut shared the pictures on Twitter, saying that young people should take inspiration from her on how to wear them with style.
Her tweet came on Thursday, March 18, 2021.

Sharing a series of images of her wearing ripped jeans, Kangana tweeted:
“If you want to wear ripped jeans make sure coolness quotient is of this magnitude as in these pics, so that it looks like your style not your state a homeless beggar who hasn’t got allowance from parents this month, most young people look like that these days.”
Tirath Singh Rawat made his controversial comments on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at a workshop organised by the Uttarakhand State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) in Dehradun.
During the workshop, he expressed concerns over the example a woman running an NGO was setting for society.
The woman had been wearing a pair of ripped jeans.
He said:
“If this kind of woman goes out in the society to meet people and solve their problems, what kind of message are we giving out to society, to our kids?
“It all starts at home. What we do, our kids follow.
“A child who is taught in the right culture at home, no matter how modern he becomes, will never fail in life.”
The Chief Minister also said that he feels women wearing ripped jeans cannot provide the right home environment for children.
Many people have been reacting to the Chief Minister’s comments, and the hashtag #RippedJeans has been circling Twitter since.
Alongside Kangana Ranaut, Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda also expressed her disgust at the Chief Minister’s remarks.
In a post uploaded to her Instagram story, she said:
“Change your mentality before changing our clothes because the only thing shocking here is the message comments like this send to society”
Congress Leader Sanjay Jha also gave a public reaction, asking the BJP if they agree with their CM’s views.
