“One of my most favourite looks.”
Samantha Ruth Prabhu took to Instagram on March 11, 2022, to share her gorgeous look from the Film Critics’ Choice Awards 2022.
Before making an appearance at the event, Samantha took part in a photoshoot where she posed in an emerald and black plunging neckline gown.
The pictures featured her donning a colour block green and black gown that sported delicate spaghetti straps and a deep plunging neckline to raise the hotness quotient.
Made of satin fabric, the strappy gown was cinched at the waist and came with a long trail.
Stunning floral embroidery on the side completed the unique styling.
Pulling back her luscious brunette tresses into a messy braid, Samantha completed her attire with a pair of black heels and opted for minimal accessories to let her ensemble do the talking.
Wearing a dab of nude pink lipgloss, Samantha amplified the glam quotient with rosy blushed and highlighted cheeks, mascara-laden eyelashes, black eyeliner streaks and filled-in eyebrows.
Styled by celebrity fashion stylist Preetham Jukalker, Samantha struck sultry poses for the camera and set the internet on fire.
She captioned the pictures: “One of my most favourite looks.”
The ensemble is credited to the Indian designer duo Gauri and Nainika’s luxury fashion label.
On March 12, 2022, Samantha slammed those who judge women based on what they wear, their race, and appearance among other things.
Taking to her Instagram Story, Samantha asked if judgments on women “based on the hemlines and necklines” can be stopped.
She also added that projecting a person’s ideas on someone else “never did anyone any good”.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu wrote: “As a woman, I bear first-hand knowledge of what it means to be judged.
“We judge women based on what they wear, their race, education, social standing, appearance, skin tone, and the list goes on and on.
“Making snap judgements about a person simply based on the clothes they wear is quite literally the easiest thing one can do.”
She added: “Now that we’re in the year 2022 – can we finally stop judging a woman based on the hemlines and necklines she adorns and focus instead on bettering ourselves?”
Samantha’s post on ‘hemlines’ comes a few months after a spat between Deepika Padukone and social media influencer Freddy Birdy over her outfits.
In January 2022, Freddy had shared a post, speaking about the dresses worn by the Gehraiyaan cast during promotions.
It read: “Newton’s Law of Bollywood.”
“The clothes will get tinier as the Gehraiyaan release date approaches.”
A part of the caption also read: “Necklines and hemlines are Gehraiyaan.”
