"What are these privileged brats"
Known for her outspoken views, Kangana Ranaut branded Twinkle Khanna a “privileged brat”.
The Queen star reacted negatively to an old comment made by Twinkle.
Upon being asked how she realised that she was a feminist, Twinkle had compared men to plastic bags.
She had said: “We never spoke about feminism or equality or anything.
“But it was very clear that there was absolutely no need for a man.
“It would be very nice to have a man, like you would have a nice handbag.
“But even if you had a plastic bag it would do.
“So I grew up with that notion and for a long time I felt that there wasn’t much use for them.
“They lose their hair, start wrapping the four strands, round and round, on their heads.
“Luckily for most women, they die 10-15 years before us. You have to feel a little sorry for them also.
“So I had to walk backwards that perhaps we (women) are not superior but we are sort of equals.
“That has been my journey to feminism.”
These remarks did not go down well with Kangana Ranaut.
Attaching a video clip of Twinkle to her Instagram Story, she blasted the former actress.
She wrote: “What are these privileged brats who call their men polythene bags, are they trying to be cool?
“Nepo kids born with silver spoon, given film careers on golden platters, couldn’t do justice to that for sure.
“At least they could find some joy and fulfilment in the selflessness of motherhood that also seems like a curse in their case what exactly do they want to be?
“Vegetables? Is that feminism?”
Twinkle is the elder daughter of actors Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia. In 1969, Rajesh Khanna hit superstardom with the release of Aradhana.
He went on to enjoy 15 consecutive solo hits over the next two years.
Twinkle began her acting career opposite Bobby Deol in Barsaat (1995).
In her career, she appeared in 16 films, before quitting the profession in 2001.
The same year, she married the film star Akshay Kumar. They have two children together.
Twinkle is currently a successful author and columnist.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Kangana is gearing up for Emergency, scheduled to be released on June 14, 2024.
Also the director of the movie, she will play former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Twinkle Khanna is yet to react to Kangana Ranaut’s comment.
