Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai (2000) was an iconic blockbuster that marked the debut of Hrithik Roshan and Ameesha Patel.
In exciting news for fans, the movie is set to return to the big screen.
Directed by Hrithik’s father, Rakesh Roshan, the film tells the love story of Rohit Kumar (Hrithik) and Sonia Saxena (Ameesha).
After tragedy strikes, Raj Chopra (also Hrithik) enters Sonia’s life in New Zealand.
When they return to India, Raj must face the reality of having Rohit’s face and taking his place in the world.
Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai did wonders for Bollywood and gave the industry a loved superstar in Hrithik.
Fans loved his acting skills and excellent dancing in songs such as ‘Ek Pal Ka Jeena‘ and ‘Dil Ne Dil Ko Pukaara’.
For the film, Hrithik won Filmfare Awards for ‘Best Actor’ and ‘Best Male Debut’ in 2001.
Speaking about the re-release of the film, Hrithik said: “It’s surreal to realise that 25 years have passed since Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai!
“This milestone is both humbling and motivating.
“To be blessed with the opportunity to live my dream of being an actor every day for the past two and a half decades is truly a blessing.
“Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai was my first film and will always hold a special place in my heart.”
Rakesh Roshan added: “It’s a momentous occasion for me as a producer, director, and father that Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai is being celebrated after 25 years.
“Revisiting the film brings back so many memories, and looking back, I feel grateful to the cinema-going audience for showering love on my film and Hrithik.
“It’s hugely rewarding as a filmmaker to hear the songs of Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai is still played at events and parties even today.
“I’m delighted to witness the film being celebrated with a re-release.”
Ameesha Patel tweeted a trailer for the re-release and wrote: “Action, romance, drama, dance…the movie that had it all!
“25 years later, Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai still reigns as the ultimate love story, and we’re bringing it once again on the big screen.”

Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai will be re-released on the big screen on January 10, 2025, coinciding with Hrithik’s 51st birthday.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Hrithik Roshan will next be seen in War 2 with Jr NTR.
Ameesha Patel was last seen in Anil Sharma’s Gadar 2 (2023) where she reprised her role of Sakeena ‘Sakku’ Ali Singh.
Hrithik Roshan, Rakesh Roshan, and music director Rajesh Roshan will also be featured in an upcoming Netflix documentary titled The Roshans.
The show will chronicle the legacy of the family and will be premiered on January 17, 2025.
