"She’s excited by the prospect."
Strictly Come Dancing always sets pulses racing as various celebrities take to the dance floor.
The BBC’s hit dance television show first graced our screens in 2004.
The competition sees a host of celebrities try on their dancing shoes as they pair up with a professional dancer.
Every week, they attempt to impress the judges and the audience in a bid to win the grand prize of Strictly Come Dancing.
The Sun has reported that a very famous face from EastEnders could be set to enter the ballroom in the upcoming 2025 series.
That celebrity is allegedly none other than Balvinder Sopal, who has dazzled viewers as Suki Panesar-Unwin.
A source revealed: “EastEnders has been a happy hunting ground for Strictly bosses since the show first aired and they believe Balvinder will be a huge hit with fans.
“She’s excited by the prospect, too, as she feels viewers will see a different side to her.”
When asked about the rumour, an official spokesperson for Strictly Come Dancing said:
“We do not comment on speculation.”
However, it would be an unforgettable experience for fans of the show and Balvinder to see her in the ballroom.
The actress has admitted to trying new things in recent months.
In June 2025, Balvinder appeared on an issue of Grazia Magazine.
Commenting on this experience, she said: “This was insane! Never have I done anything like this before.
“This year was about saying yes to all the things outside of my comfort zone.”
After appearing in guest roles in soaps including Hollyoaks, Emmerdale, and Coronation Street, Balvinder Sopal began starring as Suki in EastEnders from January 2020.
She has been a key figure of the show since. One of her most notable storylines has been coming to terms with her sexuality and her subsequent relationship with Eve Panesar-Unwin (Heather Peace).
After being terrorised and tortured by her ex-husband Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry), Suki finally married Eve in January 2025.
This marked the first lesbian wedding seen in EastEnders.
In December 2023, Suki also became a part of The Six – a group of iconic female characters who found themselves standing over a male body.
At first, this was believed to be Nish, but the real victim soon turned out to be Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) after he was stabbed by Linda Carter (Kellie Bright).
Meanwhile, Strictly Come Dancing has featured many EastEnders stars across previous years.
These have included Jake Wood (Max Branning), Tameka Empson (Kim Fox), and Rose Ayling-Ellis (Frankie Carter).
