Aims to fulfil his daughter’s dream of studying in London
After taking a break from Bollywood Irrfan Khan is back with the fun-filled trailer to his upcoming film, Angrezi Medium (2020).
Angrezi Medium (2020) is the sequel to his 2017 film, Hindi Medium in which he captivated the hearts of fans with his amazing performance.
Hindi Medium (2017) showcased the life of a rich businessman (Irrfan Khan) who has everything in life from a wife, a big house to an adorable daughter.
However, he struggles to speak fluent English. This proves to be a problem for him when he tries to get his daughter admission into a prestigious English medium school in Delhi.
After the success of Hindi Medium (2017) the filmmakers are back once again with Angrezi Medium (2020).
On Wednesday, February 12, 2020, Irrfan announced his comeback after his ongoing battle with cancer. The actor was receiving treatment in London but returned to India to honour his work commitments.
Irrfan Khan reached out to his fans with a heartfelt note. He explained his absence from the big screen and the promotions for the film.
The actor stated that his poor health was the reason behind his absence.
Irrfan continued to mention that despite his health concerns, he has been inundated with positivity and Angrezi Medium (2020) has helped uplift his mood.
The film also stars Kareena Kapoor and Radhika Madan in lead roles. Deepak Dobriyal, Kiku Sharda, Ranvir Shorey and Dimple Kapadia feature in supporting roles.
The trailer to the film was released on Thursday, February 13, 2020, and immediately received praise for its uplifting spirit.
It begins with the proud father (Irrfan Khan) delivering a speech for his daughter (Radhika Madan) who has won a prize at school.
Due to his broken English, he abruptly ends his speech. He says:
“Inside I am very emotional, outside I am very happy. That’s all the English I know.”
Irrfan Khan, who plays the role of a single father, aims to fulfil his daughter’s dream of studying in London no matter the cost.
Kareena Kapoor Khan is like a breath of fresh air as she enters the trailer as a policewoman in London. There is no denying Kareena aces her policewoman avatar.
Angrezi Medium (2020) depicts the lovely bond between father (Irrfan) and daughter (Radhika).
The film is due to hit the big screen on March 20, 2020. We look forward to seeing Irrfan Khan grace the silver screen once again.
