An Indian student has been raped by her teacher’s husband and forced into a court marriage with him.
Allegedly, the abuse began in 2017 and went on for three years, resulting in her becoming pregnant.
The student filed a complaint against the teacher, her husband and a female lawyer at Ganaur Police Station in Haryana.
In the complaint, the girl said that she studied at a private school while living near her aunt and uncle.
According to the student, a female teacher at her school introduced her to her husband, Amit Saini, for extra tuition.
However, when the pair met to study, Saini allegedly molested and raped her several times.
He also reportedly threatened to kill the student’s aunt and uncle if she told anyone about the abuse.
Also in the complaint, the student revealed that Amit Saini forced her into a court marriage, despite the fact he was already married to her teacher.
In April 2021, Saini allegedly took the girl to the temple of Samalkha in Haryana’s Panipat district and married her against her will.
He, along with a female lawyer, forcibly got the student to sign the marriage papers. After that, he kept her hostage in his house in Ganaur.
Despite being trapped by Amit Saini, the student managed to contact her aunt and uncle and tell them everything.
By the time they were able to release her, she was five months pregnant.
The student is now demanding for action to be taken against Amit Saini.
The police have registered a case against him, and he is booked under various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Students being sexually abused by their tutors and those in authority is not uncommon.
In 2018, a private tutor from Birmingham was found guilty of molesting two students under the age of 13.
Birmingham Crown Court sentenced and jailed 49-year-old Sanjeev Mittal on May 25, 2018, after the jury heard the accounts of two victims.
According to the victims, Mittal had sexually assaulted them during lessons.
One of the girls said that Mittal had touched her inappropriately when she went to him for tutoring.
The second girl told the police that the teacher sexually assaulted her when he visited her family home during lessons.
The jury found Sanjeev Mittal guilty of nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
He was sentenced to five years in prison.
