Indian Restaurant Chain creates Nutella Chicken Tikka Masala

A popular chain of Indian restaurants in the UK has come up with a Nutella chicken tikka masala that is sure to divide customers.

"Our friends at Deliveroo challenged us"

Popular UK-based Indian restaurant chain Tamatanga has created a Nutella chicken tikka masala.

Tamatanga and Deliveroo have teamed up to launch the limited-edition curry to celebrate World Nutella Day on February 5, 2021.

After experimenting for weeks, chef Himanshu Khurana presented the Nutella version of the traditional Indian chicken tikka masala.

The unique dish will be available until February 7, 2021.

The restaurant has branches in Birmingham, Leicester and Nottingham.

Deliveroo customers will be able to order this unique dish from participating restaurants from February 2, 2021, to February 7, 2021.

The price is £10.95, excluding delivery and service fees.

The Nutella chicken tikka masala is made with layers of mouth-watering ingredients.

It is a sweet and savoury curry sauce which features a lathering of the chocolate-hazelnut spread.

It is combined with whole red chilli, an array of spices, coconut milk, lime zest, garlic and coriander stems.

The sauce coats tender pieces of chicken tikka.

This creative curry is risky and will surely divide customers, but Tamatanga is quite confident about the result.

Aman Kular, who is the Managing Director at Tamatanga, said:

“Our friends at Deliveroo challenged us with creating a truly mouth-watering Nutella curry, and to our surprise, we were blown away by the results.

“For decades people have used nuts to make rich and creamy sauces, and many chefs will know you also experience a depth in food when you match chocolate with chilli.

“The flavours work so well together – the taste is incredible, you’ve got to try it to believe it.”

Arabella Jenkins, of Deliveroo added:

“Food discovery, innovation and creativity has always been at the heart of what we do at Deliveroo, but 2021 is the year to take great food to the next level.

“We shocked Londoners in 2018 by creating the first Nutella Chicken Kebab, and this year, our partners at Tamatanga have succeeded in creating the latest experimental dish that our customers didn’t know they wanted.

“Curry and Nutella – what’s not to love?”

This is not the only Nutella mix currently available on Deliveroo, as the company is offering many dishes with Nutella as the main ingredient.

World Nutella Day was first celebrated in 2007. The idea for the day came from Sara Rosso who was an American blogger who was living in Italy at the time.

We are really curious to know what customers think about this new, unusual version of the Indian chicken tikka masala.
