"The boy was sacrificed."
A degrading and heinous incident is said to have occurred involving an Indian child.
The student was allegedly in Class Two when he was murdered by his school teachers.
His killing happened in a school hostel in Hathras, India, as part of a ritual that was intended to “bring glory” to the school.
Five people including the school’s director and three teachers were arrested for their reported involvement.
According to police, the group had unsuccessfully tried to kill another boy in the past.
Nipun Agarwal, the SP of Hathras, identified the staff. The school’s director is apparently named Dinesh Baghel.
Baghel reportedly acted alongside his father Jashodhan Singh.
The three teachers who allegedly aided in the murder of the Indian child were Laxman Singh, Veerpal Singh, and Ramprakash Solanki.
Mr Agarwal said: “The boy was sacrificed as part of a ritual for the school’s supposed success and glory.
“We are investigating if any other individuals were involved in the murder.
“Jashodhan had tried to kill a boy earlier as well, although it was not successful.”
According to sources, the Indian child who was killed was the son of Krishan Kushwaha – a software engineer in Delhi.
It has also been reported that another staff member and other students found the child unresponsive in his bed.
Instead of seeking help, Baghel allegedly put the body in his car and drove around for several hours, encompassing Agra and Aligarh.
The boy’s father was told his son was not feeling well but upon arriving at the hostel, he could not find him.
Sensing something was wrong, Krishan alerted the police and after a subsequent manhunt, Baghel was found with the Indian child’s body. There were injuries on his neck inside the car.
A senior police officer said: “The child’s body was discovered in the director’s car after the family raised the alarm.
“We sent the body for an autopsy, which revealed that the child had been strangled to death.”
“A case of murder under BNS section 103(1) has been registered against the five accused.”
Netizens on Reddit reacted with fury to the incident.
One user said: “When will the collective consciousness of this country evolve beyond the tribal and primitive mindset?
“It seems there is an unyielding commitment to remain anchored in outdated beliefs.”
Another asked: “What the f**k is wrong with Hathras?”
