"We cannot afford to stay silent."

Pakistani actor Hina Altaf has issued a powerful plea for collective female unity following a distressing workplace incident.

The star recently revealed her encounter with a predator while working on a professional set.

She shared her harrowing experience through an emotional Instagram story.

Hina explained that she noticed the individual at work and immediately used her wits to escape.

She managed to create a quick excuse which allowed her to remove herself from the dangerous situation safely.

The actor promptly informed the production team about the predator to ensure her colleagues were fully aware.

However, she expressed deep sadness regarding the immense struggle women face while simply trying to do their jobs.

She continued to describe the heavy burden of existing as a working woman in the current social climate, saying:

“Cost of being a working woman or just a woman who’s breathing in this country”

The actress noted that constantly having to remain vigilant is an exhausting way for anyone to live.

Hina deemed it frustrating that intelligence and being smart serve as the primary survival mechanisms for women today.

She lamented the fact that many women currently lack the basic right to feel secure in their environments.

The star urged her fellow women to demand better standards and fight collectively against these systemic workplace challenges.

She said: “We cannot afford to stay silent or let these moments slide.”

Hina Altaf encouraged others to trust their instincts and seek immediate accountability whenever they are wronged by others.

“We shouldn’t have to live this way, but until things change, we must stand together.”

Unfortunately, this is not the first time a celebrity has spoken out about harassment in the industry.

In 2021, actor Mehar Bano faced a similar ordeal when a sound crew member harassed her on set.

That particular situation was resolved when the acclaimed actress Saba Qamar intervened to support her young colleague.

Saba took a firm stand and successfully had the offending crew member removed from the entire film project.

Hina Altaf remains committed to using her platform to highlight the necessity of safety for all working professionals.

She hopes that her message will inspire a lasting change in how harassment is handled within the industry.

Her bravery in speaking out has been met with widespread support from both fans and industry peers.
