"a lot of people would feel the same way.”
BBC’s The Apprentice has reached the interview stage and the final five were revealed.
Amber-Rose Badrudin, Anisa Khan, Chisola Chitambala, Dean Franklin and Jordan Dargan will now go up against some of Lord Sugar’s trusty aides, who will scrutinise their business plans.
Lord Sugar will then choose his two finalists.
Harpreet Kaur, who won the 2022 series, gave her thoughts on the final five and admitted she was slightly surprised.
Harpreet, who is currently working with Sky Vegas, exclusively told DESIblitz:
“I really enjoyed last week’s episode, the fashion week task, I thought it was really entertaining.
“It felt fresh and fun, and honestly, I haven’t seen a task like that on the show in quite a while.
“Watching the candidates walk the runway was pretty hilarious as well.
“I was really surprised that Mia [Collins] didn’t make it to the final five, and a lot of people would feel the same way.”
The interviews are usually very daunting but drawing on her experience, Harpreet “couldn’t wait”.
She said: “This was my chance to finally wrap up those crazy tasks I had no experience with and compete with the other candidates.
“I could finally talk about my business, which is exactly why I went on the show in the first place.
“I looked forward to the challenge of having someone throw a tough question at me, knowing I could respond confidently.
“It was nerve-wracking, and I remember that from that point on, the competition felt very different.
My season had a final four, not five, and there were three other girls. We supported each other, rather than competed against each other because we genuinely wanted each other to do our best.
“That said, it’s a tough week, especially if your business has any major flaws or if you’ve been less than truthful. That’s when it really hits home, and you can feel quite embarrassed.”
Giving advice to the current final five, Harpreet said:
“At the final five stage, it’s all about your business.
“By this point, the judges, Tim Campbell, Karren Brady, and Lord Sugar, have seen a lot of your personality, how you act, react, and work as part of a team.
“But now, it’s purely about you and your business, and that’s it. They’ll pick up on areas of your business that you might not have considered before.
“It’s important to remain open to the fact that we don’t know everything about business. If we did, we’d all be millionaires by now.
“It’s about being humble and accepting that, even if you’ve come this far, things might not be mapped out perfectly.”
“You have to be open to taking on new ideas, and trust me, there will be plenty coming from the interviewers, as they all bring a wealth of experience.
“My advice is to definitely be yourself and just be honest. At this stage, any game strategies should be thrown out the window, honesty is the key.”
Anisa has been a favourite of Harpreet’s since the beginning and the latter believes the pizza company owner will make the final.
She explained: “Since week one, Anisa has been my favourite. She comes across as really honest and has given her best every single week.
“I haven’t seen any game strategy from her, she’s just genuinely doing her best. She hasn’t always got everything right, but you can see she’s always making an active contribution.
“I really hope she makes it to the final.
That said, everyone who’s made it this far deserves to be here, they’ve all worked incredibly hard. Now it’s about their businesses.
“I was surprised to see Mia go, I honestly expected her to be in the final two.
“Chisola comes across really well too, but if Anisa isn’t in the final, then I don’t know what’s going on.”
The Apprentice continues on BBC One on April 10, 2025.
