Harpreet Kaur Reveals Her Apprentice Final Five Picks f

"there have only been a few real standout moments"

As The Apprentice reaches the business end of the series, Harpreet Kaur gave her thoughts on who she thinks will make the final five.

Week nine saw the candidates take on the iconic TV live selling task, which saw no standout performances, according to 2022 series winner Harpreet.

Harpreet, who is working with Sky Vegas, exclusively told DESIblitz:

“From memory, the TV-selling task is one of the hardest during the process. You’re really put on the spot, way more than people realise.

“Alpha team went first, and for me, it was all about the girls. With the team leader [Pascha Myhill], it feels like I’m picking the best of a bad bunch. She did alright overall, despite a few stumbles.

“I’m also going to mention Karishma [Vijay] because she is my favourite. Overall, it was okay, but nothing felt like a real standout or wow performance on the TV selling task.”

Team Eclipse, led by Conor Galvin, lost the task by £120.

In the boardroom, Lord Sugar fired Levi Hague for his disastrous display in the task. Conor also exited the process but the big moment came when Kieran McCartney offered to be Project Manager for task 10 and promised to leave if he lost.

Ultimately, Lord Sugar accepted Kieran’s proposal and it was a moment that brought back memories for Harpreet:

“My now-husband [Akshay Thakrar] did something very similar on our series.

“He made the same kind of promise Kieran did. Kieran hasn’t had a huge amount of heat so far, but he keeps getting pulled into boardroom discussions.

“I’m not sure how many times he’s been in the bottom three or on the losing team, but his name does keep coming up.

“The same happened with Akshay – he was in the boardroom five times and then said, ‘I’ll be project manager, and if I lose, I’ll go home’.

“Lord Sugar usually responds well to that kind of statement because it shows courage and that you’re willing to put yourself on the line.

“It’s a risky move, because if you lose, you almost certainly get fired. I’m really looking forward to seeing what happens in the next episode.”

Task 10 will see the remaining candidates design a pet product, creating social media campaigns and pitching for orders.

It will then be the infamous interviews, which can make or break candidates, and have produced memorable moments over the years.

On who she thinks will make the final five, Harpreet said:

“It’s tricky. This year, there have only been a few real standout moments, and a lot of the candidates have felt quite level with each other.

“From the women, I’d say Karishma and Rothna [Akhtar] for the final five.

“They’ve consistently presented themselves well and I haven’t seen any major red flags from either of them.”

“From the men, it’s a bit more difficult.

“I’d like to see Kieran in the final five because I want to know what his business plan is – and I feel Lord Sugar does too.

“Lord Sugar seems to respond well to his personality, so I’m rooting for him next week. I want to see him in the interviews and find out whether it’s all talk or not.

“For the remaining spots between Lawrence [Rosenberg], Dan [Miller] and Priyesh [Bathia], I’d have to go with Dan.

“He really surprised me last night with his selling; he smashed it. He’s been a bit of a silent one, but I feel he has more to offer even if he hasn’t shown his full potential yet.

“The process can sometimes overshadow certain personalities – you often have to be very extroverted – and that’s not necessarily him.

“I’d still like to see what his business plan looks like. If I line up Lawrence, Dan and Priyesh, I suspect Lord Sugar might be more inclined to see what Dan has to offer.”
